About The Day

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi is one of the few people in the world who has worked closely to strengthen the foundations of human civilization. Mahatma Gandhi is a symbol of non-violence and peace not only in India but in the whole world. Gandhiji's works and words have freed India from the bondage of subjugation. This day is celebrated with equal dignity all over the country every year on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi who was born on 2nd October. Gandhiji conveyed the message of peace and non-violence to the whole world, and in order to further establish his ideology, the UN General Assembly declared October 2, 2007 as the International Day of Non-Violence. It is one of the three national holidays in India.

We are very fortunate that we are the people from the land of Gandhi. Mahatma Gandhi taught the lesson of peace to all world. Satyagraha and Non-Violence are the two "mantra" given by Mahatma Gandhi. With the help of these two "mantra" a sustainable life can be achieved.

His thoughts and ideals are the only way to get rid of the current violent chaos that surrounds people all over the world. That's why this Virtual Book Exhibition has been organized to showcase the work of Mahatma Gandhi to all, especially to the future generation.
