UPDATE: As of June 2023 the AGB Solidarity Fund is closed. We thank everyone that donated and allowed us to provide 11 grants to families in need in our school community.
Donation Process
Money can be donated using the Venmo app to the AGB Solidarity Fund account @AGBsolidarityfund. Please only donate through this link and be cautious when searching for the account name. This is the only Venmo account associated with this project.
If you do not have the Venmo app, you can download the app and sign up or find a peer who has it; alternatively, you can contact us at AGBsolidarityfund@gmail.com.
Venmo donations are held in the AGB Solidarity Fund Venmo account managed by two staff members. All money will be held in the Venmo account and donations will be retained there until being dispersed to the intended recipients.
Anyone who wishes to support the solidarity fund can donate!
Donations made are NOT tax exempt.
Selection
There will be a higher priority given to families with one or more undocumented family members, students in transitional living situations, and families most impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
At the moment, this fund is focused on serving families with one or more students currently attending Bell School.
All decisions about which families will receive grants will be made by the Solidarity Fund Advisory Committee.
Distribution Process
After a family is selected by the Advisory Committee, the family will receive a grant grant.
For Venmo transactions, families will receive the grant directly to their Venmo account.
For families who do not have access to a bank account, families will receive the a money order. In this scenario, the Venmo account holders will send money to one organizer to withdraw from their personal bank account and placed in a money order to the family. The money order will then be delivered directly to the family.
100% of funds collected will be disbursed to families in need of immediate support.
Transparency
We will provide weekly updates to donors via email regarding the amount of money raised.
To receive additional updates, send an email to AGBsolidarityfund@gmail.com
Periodic updates about our fundraising goal will also be posted to social media and our website’s Transparency tab.
To protect the privacy of families, names of families will not be released.
Get Involved
Please help us get the word out by sharing the Venmo link and our website on social media.
