SNAP stands for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program. A federal nutrition program (formerly known as food stamps) that provides monthly financial assistance to purchase groceries to Massachusetts residents who qualify.
If you have lost your job or work hours because of COVID-19, you can apply for SNAP at any time. You do not have to wait to file an application and should learn if you are eligible.

Open Pantry Community Services operates a Holiday Meals program, which provides a traditional holiday meal for anyone in need of a meal or for those who wish to spend Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter with others.
The Holiday Meals are served at the High School of Commerce, 415 State St., Springfield, MA 01105.
Meals are served at 12:00 noon.
There is adequate parking behind the school, and you can enter through the (west) side door of the school. There will be people there to give you instructions.
Thanksgiving Holiday Meal
Thursday – November 25, 2021, Open Pantry will be hosting its annual Thanksgiving Meal. The traditional meals will be packed up in to-go containers and distributed outside the High School of Commerce starting at 12 noon on Thanksgiving Day. The High School of Commerce is located at 415 State Street in Springfield, and the meals will be served on a first-come, first served basis. If you are elderly or infirm and you need a meal delivered, please call (413) 737-5337
The Parish Cupboard is available to Agawam and West Springfield residents only.
