United States History and the Constitution meets the South Carolina Social Studies standards and focuses on the social, political, economic, and cultural history of the United States from colonization to the present. Students will use historical thinking skills in order to develop the decision-making skills needed for responsible citizenship. Successful completion of United States History is required for a high school diploma. Students will be required to take the South Carolina End of Course test in United States History and the Constitution which will count 20% other final course grade.
