Afsana Anjum Akhi
Graduate Student, Department of EEE, University of Dhaka
Hi! If you’re curious about my academic and research journey, you’re in the right place.
I am Afsana Anjum Akhi, currently serving as a Lecturer in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at BRAC University. I am also a Master’s student in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Dhaka, where I am ranked 1st in my class. I completed my undergraduate studies in the same department, securing 2nd position out of 76 students with a CGPA of 3.92/4.00.
My research explores advanced semiconductor devices and sensors, including negative capacitance FETs, 2D material-based devices, and TCAD/DFT-based modeling. I am the author of a paper in the IEEE Sensors Journal (Q1; IF: 4.5) and have several upcoming publications in the pipeline. I also actively collaborate on international projects, including recent initiatives with UC Berkeley and IIT Guwahati.
In recognition of my academic and research excellence, I was honored with the prestigious IEEE EDS Masters Student Fellowship 2025, becoming the first-ever female recipient from Bangladesh and South Asia. In addition, I received the National Science and Technology (NST) Fellowship, ranking within the top 5% among 1,260 recipients nationwide. Beyond research, I actively contribute to the IEEE EDS Student Branch Chapter at the University of Dhaka, organizing technical events and fostering collaboration among emerging researchers.
Passionate about innovation at the intersection of nanoelectronics and sensing, I aspire to contribute to the development of next-generation electronic devices through impactful research and global collaboration.
