Meet The Creators

My name is Favour Akingbemi and I am from Lagos, Nigeria. I have lived in California since 2011 and I currently attend a high school in South Central Los Angeles. My reason for contributing to the creation of this website is to inform others about what I've learned about how minorities can be forced into certain positions (i.e. being pitted against each other) and to let others know that it is a good thing when minorities come together and fight together against power structures that are set against them.

My name is Shihab Moral and I am from Elizabeth, NJ. I currently attend a boarding school in historic Concord, MA. I decided to help contribute to this website because it is important to identify both the relations and tensions the two racial groups share both in the United States and internationally. Most of the time, there is not much documents cataloging many of the relations these two groups share, but with this website we aim to improve the discussion.

My name is Nana Winwah and I am from Syracuse, NY. I've lived in Upstate NY my whole life and currently attend high school in Syracuse. I wanted to contribute to this website because I wanted to highlight the Afro Asian encounters throughout history, and the significance. It's important to not only look at negatives but the positives as well. It's important to learn about the history of these two marginalized groups and their importance in history.
