AfriLance is a marketplace that connects people who offer services (sellers) with people who buy them (buyers). This page explains what data we collect, why, who we share it with, and how you can have it deleted. We never sell your data.
In the app
Profile → My account → Delete my account. This removes your account immediately, with no request to send and no waiting.
By email
Write to afrilance.support@gmail.com from your account's email address and ask for deletion. You do not need the app installed. We reply within 30 days.
What is deleted: your profile, name, photo, email, phone and WhatsApp number, your services, your messages and files, your payout details and your identity document.
What is kept: orders that were already paid, in anonymised form, for the period accounting law requires. They no longer carry your name or your contact details.
One condition: an account cannot be deleted while money is still owed to you or a withdrawal is in progress — settle that first, or write to us, so nobody loses earnings.
AK Soluplus Network Ltd, a company registered in Ghana, which operates the AfriLance app, is the data controller for your personal data, in line with Ghana's Data Protection Act 2012 (Act 843) and other applicable laws.

Identity and contact — name, email address, phone number, WhatsApp number, country, profile photo.
Identity document — front and back photo of an ID document, required from sellers before their first withdrawal, to stop a stolen account being used to divert someone else's payment.
Payout details — Mobile Money number or bank details, so we can send you your earnings. We never see or store your card number: card payments are handled directly by our payment provider.
Activity in the app — services you publish, orders, messages, delivered files, reviews, reports and disputes.
Technical data — device type, sign-in logs, and a notification token tied to your phone, used only to send you order and message alerts.
We do not collect your location, your contacts, or what you do in other apps. Access to your photos is only used when you pick an image to send yourself.
To run the marketplace: create your account, publish your services, place and track orders.
To collect a buyer's money, hold it in escrow until the order is approved, then release it to the seller.
To refund a buyer when an order is cancelled.
To prevent fraud, account takeover and money laundering.
To handle disputes between a buyer and a seller.
To contact you: notifications, email, WhatsApp.
To meet our legal, accounting and tax obligations.
We share only what is necessary, and only with:
Paystack — collecting payments and paying sellers in Ghana.
pawaPay — Mobile Money collection and payouts in French-speaking countries, where that service is open.
Google Firebase (Google LLC) — data hosting, authentication and push notifications.
Google Sign-In — if you choose to sign in with your Google account.
The other party to an order — your name, photo, messages and the files you deliver are visible to the person you are dealing with.
Competent authorities, where the law requires it.
These providers may host data outside Ghana. We never sell your data and never use it for advertising.
Only authorised AfriLance team members can access payout details and identity documents, and only to make payouts, issue refunds and handle disputes. Every operation involving money is written to an audit log that management can review.
We keep your data while your account is active. After your account is closed we keep only what the law requires us to keep — in particular the accounting records tied to paid orders and payouts — for the legal retention period, then we delete it.
Two ways, both described at the top of this page: delete your account yourself in the app (Profile → My account → Delete my account), or email afrilance.support@gmail.com from your account's address, with no need to install anything.
Deletion removes your profile, your services, your messages, your payout details and your identity document. Orders that were already paid are kept in anonymised form, because accounting law requires it and the other party to the transaction also has rights over that record.
An account cannot be deleted while money is still owed to you or a withdrawal is in progress: settle that first, or write to us, so that nobody loses their earnings.
You can ask to see your data, correct it, have it deleted, and object to certain uses. Write to afrilance.support@gmail.com. Some data must be kept for legal reasons; we will tell you which, and why.
Data is encrypted in transit and access is restricted. No system is 100% secure; if a breach affects your rights, we will inform you as the law requires.
AfriLance is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect a child's data. If you believe a minor has created an account, write to us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy. The date at the top of the page shows the last update. If the change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by email.
