Our September Program centered on leaf propagation techniques and planning for the Plant Sale at Mounts Botanical Gardens October 2 & 3. Raffle: Optimara violets
Our August Program: Trail Mix and Trailers
We had three varieties of semi-miniature trailing African violets in 2" pots: Rob's Gundaroo, Rob's Humpty Doo, and Jersey Rose Trail. We discussed wick watering in stemmed ware and squatty pots as options for growing these violets with multiple crowns. Our Snack Chick's Trail Mix bar was a creative delicious variety of goodness.

The Gesneriad Family (pronounced either “guess-NARE-ee-ad” or “jez-NARE-ee-ad”) contains over 3,400 species of plants and countless hybrids. The best-known member of the family is the African violet (Saintpaulia).
Our regional affiliation of southeastern states
is with the Dixie African Violet Society (DAVS).
