My pieces tell African stories, musical artwork fused of afro sound called "Fujipop", which combines elements of "ewì" (Yoruba indigenous poetry) and melodious rhythm in creating classical folk sound. My works are focused on Yoruba indigenous chants (Oriki), inspirational tunes (in form of prayers, motivation, and education), and as well as its impact on the Nigerian economy, the spiritual effect on religions all over the world and the people in totality. Growing up in Bariga, an area located in the cosmopolitan State of Lagos, and having informal theater training in Crown Troupe of Africa (a foremost theatre group led by Segun Adefila) and experiences I gathered over the years as a "lead singer" in Crown Troupe of Africa undoubtedly set the pace in my artistic work and nourished my career tune. I aspire to create a deep-rooted intellectual, emotional and spiritual connection between my music and my listeners. I am committed to focusing on clarity of purpose, the pacing of musical ideas, retaining Fuji sound, and creating my music with elements around me. Music being a universal language for all is one of the most strategic weapons that can reach, preach and heal a lot of people in this pandemic with the hope of bringing faith and hope to others. I believe that Fujipop composition can heal many people if we create an inclusive environment — for the players and audience.
