The Africa Finance and Political Economy Conference (AFPEC) aims to bring together researchers from Africa and around the world to present high-quality research and foster in-depth scientific exchanges on issues related to finance, political economy, and development.
The conference covers a broad range of topics, including banking and financial intermediation, development and sustainable finance, digital finance and crypto-assets, energy and natural resources, climate change-related risks, as well as geopolitical and governance issues. Both empirical and theoretical contributions are welcome, particularly those drawing on African data or offering comparative insights relevant to African debates.
AFPEC also places strong emphasis on the development of early-career scholars through a dedicated PhD session, encouraging intergenerational exchanges, academic mentoring, and the building of sustainable research networks.
By bringing together senior academics, early-career researchers, and institutional stakeholders, AFPEC aims to establish itself as a leading academic platform for research in finance and political economy in Africa.
