House-Call Grooming Update
In January 2022, Amanda relocated to Jacksonville, Florida and returned to offering house-call grooming services. Due to ongoing health issues that made transporting equipment and maintaining a mobile setup unsustainable, house-call grooming services were discontinued in February 2024.
Amanda is proud to now be providing grooming services as the Grooming Department Manager at Woof Gang Bakery & Grooming, Murabella, where she continues to apply her experience with special-needs dogs, behavior-aware handling, and health-informed grooming practices in a structured salon environment..
Amanda has specialized in special-needs dogs in the past, including dogs with bite history, dogs who have been dismissed by other groomers, senior dogs, dogs with health issues, and puppies.
This specialization has contributed to strong, experience-based handling skills and extensive continuing education in canine behavior, training, and canine structure and movement.
This background allows Amanda to better evaluate a dog’s individual needs, stress triggers, physical limitations, and tolerance levels within the grooming salon, and to adjust handling and grooming techniques to promote the most positive and stress-less experience possible within realistic limits.
Amanda has pursued extensive continuing education across a wide range of grooming-related disciplines, supported by years of hands-on experience and self-directed study. Her knowledge base has been shaped not only through formal coursework and certification programs, but also through independent research, case-based learning, and practical problem-solving in real grooming environments.
Areas of focused study and application include grooming and coat correction for doodle coats and specialty coat types, skin and coat care, canine massage, bathing and preparation, senior and puppy grooming, wire-coated terrier maintenance, canine structure and movement, and behavior considerations specific to the grooming salon.
Amanda continues to engage in ongoing learning through a combination of formal education, independent research, and practical application to stay current with evolving best practices and to refine grooming techniques, handling skills, and safety-centered approaches to care.
