Food AI App ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). Please read this privacy policy carefully. When you register for the App, we may collect personally identifiable information, such as your name and email address, primarily facilitated through Google Sign-In.
To provide highly relevant geographical restaurant and food recommendations, we may request access and permission to track location-based information from your mobile device, either continuously or while you are using the App. This includes:
Approximate Location: Based on your selected Country, State, and City.
Precise Location: GPS-based location to measure the exact distance to recommended restaurants. You can change our access or permissions to your device location at any time in your device's settings.
We store your search queries, dietary preferences, selected cuisines, and interaction history locally on your device to improve your experience and provide a history of past recommendations.
The App requires you to input a Google Gemini API Key to function. We do not collect, store, or transmit this API key to any of our own servers. It is stored securely and locally on your device and is only transmitted directly to Google's API services to fulfill your AI recommendation requests.
The App utilizes third-party services that may collect information used to identify you. Below are the third-party service providers used by the App:
Google Play Services: Used for core device functionality and authentication.
Google AdMob: We use AdMob to display advertisements in the App. AdMob may use advertising IDs to serve personalized ads based on your interests and past interactions.
Google Gemini API: Your search queries, dietary preferences, and location data are sent to Google's Gemini API to generate food recommendations.
Google Sign-In: Used for secure authentication into the App.

Having accurate information about you permits us to provide you with a smooth, efficient, and customized experience. Specifically, we may use information collected about you via the App to:
Generate personalized food and restaurant recommendations.
Serve targeted advertising via Google AdMob.
Create and manage your account.
Calculate the distance between your location and recommended restaurants.
Store your search history for your convenience.
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal identification information to others. The information you provide is strictly used within the app environment and transmitted to Google's APIs (Gemini, AdMob) as necessary to provide the App's core services.
We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. Your Gemini API key and search history are stored locally on your device. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse.
The App contains links to third-party websites or services, such as Google Maps for directions, Instagram, YouTube, and restaurant websites for online ordering or menus. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by us. Therefore, we strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of these websites. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.
These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to take necessary actions.
We respect your right to privacy and control over your data. Because the Food AI App does not operate a centralized backend database, all of your personal data, search history, API keys, and dietary preferences are stored locally on your device.
To delete your account and all associated data:
Clear App Data: You can clear all data associated with the App by going to your device's Settings > Apps > Food AI App > Storage > Clear Data. This will immediately remove all locally stored preferences, history, and API keys.
Uninstall the App: Uninstalling the App will completely remove all associated local data from your device.
Google Account Connection: If you wish to revoke the App's access to your Google Sign-In, you can do so by visiting your Google Account settings (Security > Third-party apps with account access) and removing the App.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page.
