Hi! I am Aflatun Kaeser, a PhD student in Economics at the School of Economics, Drexel University, Philadelphia, USA. I hold an MS in Economics from the Huntsman School of Business and another Master’s in Economics and Statistics from the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences at Utah State University, USA.
I work in the intersection of International Trade, Development and Environmental Economics. I used tools from empirical trade, industrial organization and experimental economics to answer questions related to trade, development, and environment.
I previously served as a Lecturer of Economics at BRAC University (BRACU), Bangladesh, where I co-founded Bangladesh’s first Behavioral Experiment Lab. I also worked as a Graduate Research Fellow at the Center for Growth and Opportunity at Utah State University.
I teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Microeconomics, Econometrics, Statistics, and Machine Learning, aiming to inspire the next generation of economists and data scientists. In addition, I mentor students applying for higher studies and advise government agencies, NGOs, and private companies on Development, Environment, Leadership, Management, and Public Policy—helping to drive impactful change and informed decision-making.
Since 2013, I have been actively involved in the conservation of nature and natural resources, collaborating with various organizations to promote sustainable practices.
