AFIR Privacy Policy
Last Updated: March 26, 2026
AFIR team built the AFIR app as a Free app. This app is provided by AFIR team at no cost and is intended for use as is. This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our app.
If you choose to use our app, then you agree to the processing of information strictly in relation to this policy. AFIR does not collect, store on external servers, or share your personal identity information with anyone. All data required for P2P communication remains exclusively on your device.
Information Collection and Use
Our app does not require you to provide us with personally identifiable information. However, the app uses permissions that are essential for its core functionality:
Nearby Devices & Wi-Fi Direct: To enable peer-to-peer (P2P) messaging without the internet, the app requires access to nearby device scanning.
Location Data (Background Access): AFIR requests access to your location data to find nearby devices and maintain Wi-Fi Direct connections, even when the app is in background mode. This is a technical requirement of the Android OS for P2P networking and Service Discovery (DNS-SD). This data is processed locally on your device to facilitate connections and is NEVER collected, stored on servers, or shared with third parties.
The app does use third-party services that may collect information used to identify you:
Google Play Services
Technical Log Data
We want to inform you that whenever you use our app, in the event of an error or crash, certain technical information may be processed on your device or reported through Google Play Services to help us improve the application. This data is purely technical and may include your device name, operating system version, the app configuration at the time of the error, and other anonymous statistics. This information is used exclusively for debugging and is not linked to your personal identity.
Cookies
Our app does not use these “cookies” directly. Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers.
Service Providers
We do not employ third-party companies for data analysis or marketing purposes. The application operates in a decentralized peer-to-peer mode. The only third-party involvement is the use of standard system services provided by Google Play Services, which are technically necessary to maintain the app's functionality on the Android platform (such as managing notifications or connectivity). These services may process technical data according to their policy.
Security
We value your trust. Since AFIR is a decentralized P2P messenger, your communications are not stored on any central server, significantly reducing the risk of data breaches. We use technically acceptable means to protect your local data. However, remember that no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security against all possible threats on the user's device.
Children’s Privacy
AFIR does not collect, store, or share personally identifiable information from any user, regardless of age. Our Service is not designed to collect any personal data. Since we do not collect any information, we do not knowingly process data from children or any other age group.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
This policy is effective as of 2026-03-26
