Afif Ramadi Farming

Farming & Agricultural Engineering

Although Afif Ramadi may be retired from his career as a Civil Engineer, he is still dedicated to learning new things! That’s why he is returning to his engineering roots — literally and figuratively. Initially, Ramadi embraced the idea of a small farm on his property as a laidback retirement activity. But it wasn’t long before the former engineer started to roll up his sleeves and brainstorm innovative approaches. Recently, he has tried agricultural engineering on for size. His latest project includes an irrigation system that balances commercial water sources with natural rainfall. So far, his crops are thriving and Ramadi is proud of the garden-turned-farm in his own backyard!

Afif Ramadi No More Victims

Charity Work

For many years, Afif Ramadi has been a proud supporter of several humanitarian organizations. He is particularly proud to directly support the International Committee of the Red Cross, Caritas Internationalis, Afif Charity Foundation and No More Victims.

Ramadi’s support of No More Victims ties directly into his historical research efforts. For much of his life, he has been fascinated by the culture and history of Ramadi, Iraq. In particular, he is motivated by the unbelievable amount of tragedies that the areas has faced throughout its history. No More Victims directly benefits innocent victims of the disease of militarism. Afif initially discovered the organization through his research on Ramadi. The remarkable stories of children fighting for their lives in Iraq moved him beyond belief. Now, he’s doing what he can to help by supporting No More Victims and other charitable organizations with similar focuses.
