If you are signed up for E-Dues, go to https://memberid.afge.org/ and type in your email address. You will receive an automated email with your member ID.

You can sign up for E-Dues on AFGE's website. Payment via E-Dues ensures management cannot track your union affiliation. Anyone can sign up for E-Dues regardless of your bargaining unit status. Select "Active Employee" unless Retired (while we challenge the illegal RIFs, we consider you Active!)

If you are currently paying via payroll deductions, fill out Form 1188 and contact the 1st and 2nd VPs of your agency to stop these deductions when you sign up for E-Dues.

Your bargaining unit (BU) code is listed in box 37 of your SF-50. If you are part of the BU, one of these will be your code:

• DOS: 3524, 3590, 1140, 1038, or 1094

• USAID: 1083

• DFC: 5878

8888 means you are ineligible, but you can still sign up for E-Dues and receive benefits. AFGE is representing all dues-paying members at DOS and USAID in MSPB filings regardless of BU eligibility.

Joining the union gives you a seat at the table where decisions regarding your pay, benefits, and working conditions are made. Our strength and resources depend entirely on our dues-paying members, and a larger membership gives us more leverage to push back against management's attempts to curtail employee rights.
