The Atascadero Fine Arts Academy Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA) was established in 2000 to support the students, parents, and teachers of Atascadero Fine Arts Academy, a public school in Atascadero, CA. As a member of the California State & National PTA, the PTSA operates as a 501(c)3 non-profit, fully driven by volunteers. Funds raised by the AFAA PTSA help provide valuable resources for students including field trips, classroom supplies, musical instruments, educational assemblies, competitions, talent shows, and a variety of other activities that enrich the educational experience and well-being of AFAA students.
We need your skills to help with the PTSA this year!
We have opportunities both big and small - seriously, there’s something for everyone!
Committee Chair Positions
Committee Chairs support the Board Members in their core duties & also try to attend the monthly board meetings if they're able. They require a bit less time commitment than the official Board positions but are integral to a well functioning team!
Membership Chair (10 hrs/month initially and 2 hours a month after October)
Hospitality Chair (1 hr/month)
Restaurant Fundraiser Chair (1 hr/month)
National PTA Art Reflections Chair (1-2 hrs/month)
Grants & Sponsorship Chair (2-3 hrs/month)
Event Coordinator Positions
Event Coordinators take the lead on a single event, helping the PTSA board plan and organize it from start to finish - no ongoing commitment required! You'll attend board meetings leading up to your event, provide key details to the Communications Chair to share with families, and send a list of volunteer needs to the Volunteer Chair for support.

Short on time? Check out these mini positions! We need various people to fill these tiny roles. They may be small, but they're hugely important and impactful!
Social Media Ambassadors (1 - 2 hrs/month)
Sign Wavers - Promotion of Fundraisers (1 - 2 hrs/month)
School Event Photographers/Videographers (1 - 2 hrs/month)
PTSA Meeting Ambassadors (1 - 2 hrs/month)

Joining the PTSA is one of the easiest ways to support our school - and it only takes a $10 donation! You can become a member at any time during the year, and there’s absolutely no obligation to volunteer (though we always welcome extra helping hands!).
Our goal is 100% membership every year, and your contribution goes directly toward enriching students' experiences - helping fund field trips, classroom supplies, special events, and more.

The AFAA PTSA always needs helping hands - and there’s a role for everyone! Whether you can take the lead on a project or just lend an hour, we’ve got tasks both big and small.
You can even help from home while binging Netflix! We welcome all skill sets, perspectives, and ideas, and we’re an inclusive group working to make the student experience at our school the best it can be.
