PhD Openings:
There are immediate openings for self-motivated PhD students (in computational mechanics and experimental mechanics) for Spring 2027 / Fall 2027.
Interested students should contact Dr. Wen Luo via E-mail at w-luo@auburn.edu with the following required materials:
CV, Transcripts, TOFEL/IELTS, GRE, and a brief introduction of research interests.
Note: Auburn Aerospace Dept. does NOT waive GRE scores.
Desirable PhD applicants may have a background in Aerospace Engineering, Civil Engineering (Structures), Mechanical Engineering, and Materials Engineering. Prior experience in computational mechanics, coding, and probability/statistics are strongly preferred. A master’s degree in the related field is also preferred.
Prospective Undergraduate Researchers:
We are looking for highly-motivated undergraduate researchers to join the lab on a rolling basis.
We are a solid mechanics research group. If you genuinely enjoyed—and excelled in—courses like Mechanics of Materials, Statics, and Structures I, II, and III, you’ll feel right at home doing research in our lab.
Please email your CV, Unofficial Transcripts, and a brief statement of research interests to Dr. Luo.
