*My oc in black and white*

I loved working on this manga, it was a pain in the ass to draw and write this one-shot but I believe it was definetely worth it in the end, the world I’ve created will be expanded upon in the near future and I hope you look forward to it! by drawing this manga I’ve noticed my love of drawing animals and developing characters. I really like to emphasize emotions and reactions to circumstances. So much has happened throughout the making of thiss book. Thank you for reading my biggest project yet!

- The ENTIRE STORY -

In modern days, you can’t pinpoint Celestia on a map unless you’re a Celestian yourself *shows planet earth*

*Note: This version of earth is 5 times it’s original size with 4 extra continents*

Governors decided to colectively erase our land from every western country(Celestia, 1908) and there is only one place other than our own where people are allowed to keep us on the map…

and that is Lyro, the land of animalia... the place is believed to be caring towards those who look different, like the animalia themselves….(Lyro, 1908)

In Celestia those who date or have kids with a foreginer get executed on the spot(Oficcer Yuui pointing gun), it’s a constitutional law...(Oficcer Yuui shoots gun and there is a big flash on the end of the pistol)

It has been this way since the colonization of the east, Arkonians and Europeans had made a treaty, where the both of them would only colonize not once visited lands(two people holding hands, emphasis on hands)

this resulted in both Europeans and Arkonians choosing to explore different areas of the world, Arkonians chose to expand their territory to eastern continents(somewhere in Europe, 1519) (an european and an arkonian, divided by two panels, the panel to the left says ”west” and shows some land, the panel to the right says ”east” and shows several archipelagos, all of these territorries behind the two bearded man in front of them, they will be posing from the back, the european one has a black beard the arkonian one has blond beard)

...with perseverance they succeeded, they conquered Ecane and most of Lyro...however they let their greediness take over themselves...and sailed to the seas of Celestia…(sea)

upon getting near the coast they were met with the finest artilery shooting back at them(guy organizing cannons in order from afar)

(extra panel, close up of the eye of the guy who is lighting the cannon, he’s got a grin on his face but you can’t see his mouth, so im gonna have to make the eye super detailed and make it look like he’s grinning with his eyes)

the bullets shot at their navigation vehicles weren’t just cannon bullets (european ship coming from afar in the water)

(cannon shoots something)

they were all…humans(guy gets shots as a bullet and goes flying, similar to shigaraki panel in mha), as they were attacked, Celestians would begin their killing spree...

(human bullets are shot at the ship and the ship has holes)

(an arkonian runs for his life desperately, but then a shadowy Celestian holds his neck and simply threatens to crush the arkonian’s neck)

arkonian leader – NO, please dont! DON’T

(Celestian crushes the sailor’s neck)

of 828 Arkonians on that ship, 827 were masacred and at that moment the Arkonians had seen it first hand, the true power of Celestia(arkonian leader is terrified while all bloody screaming ”NOOOO” this panel will be taking up 2 times the size the usual wide-panel takes and it’s gonna be very detailed, with only the leader/captain in the middle)

after that incident, no Arkonian ever dared to step foot on Celestia again, it’s believed that while Lyro was being attacked and looted after...(broken ship from afar, a down shot)

a few higher ups had offered significant intel to Celestian soldiers and when the settlers came for us, the only thing left to do was to bury their corpses(document being handed over to someone as the other person holds it)

at least that’s how my father sees it, look at him go, he’s really enjoying himself in front of me(down shot on both hanzo and his father, his father in front of him and hanzo sorta behind him, and they’re sitting on the couch) (1976)

it’s apparent...he’s proud of being a Celestian(close up shot on Father’s face)

and mother, she is quite caring but she needs to conform with my father’s actions to keep us safe(Hanzo twists his body to look at his mother,) , as you can see she is an Animalia, it’s written all over her face,

due to Celestian laws a citizen of Celestia cannot have kids with someone from another land, if they do…(close up shot on mother’s face, triangular panel)

the couple along with the kid would be executed, since my father is a ”pure one” he can go in and out of the house without a worry in his mind, but my mother….(he stretches his face with his hands downwards) [pure one = pure Celestian]

...her job is to pretend to be his maid when outside(his mother is outside and as the background there are eyes of people with hurtful things to say to her)

my job is to make sure we don’t get caught(takes bucket),(puts bucket on and hands will be holding the sides of the bucket, this panel will have Hanzo in a 3 / 4 angle)

*as he’s talking, there are two seeker corp members patroling the neighborhood*

Father says that’s why we do this, so we can move out of it, to a place where I won’t have to hide anymore(small panel, sillhoettes of cable and glazer from afar)

, until then, i’m forced to live like this…

I was born in this very house and I’ve never left it

(bigger panel with Hanzo looking at ’em through the window with the bucket on)

My father told me that when teens turn 15, their parents teach them this ritual that gives them other-wordly power, he also told me soldiers used that ritual over and over to make themselves stronger enough to overpower their enemies in countless wars(his sillhoette as he turns his back to the window(window has bright light coming from it) he’s standing on a chair)

*show a scene of young Hanzo being impressionable at his father saying ”and that’s how we won the war, son”*

since then I’ve been waiting my entire life for this, the moment where I’ll turn 15 and maybe, something will change…(panel of Hanzo from the side looking at his hand, and his hand is like in front of him)

THE NEXT DAY

I’m here!

*panel shows his house from afar as someone is walking towards it, then a closer shot of it, then his father unlocks the door and enters the room*(wide panel)

Father - You took way too long!

Beatrice - Yeah, we were waiting on you!

*wide panel with both parents siting behind the table, the mother raising her hand and the father looking kinda exahausted *

Hanzo - So do you guys know what day is today?(while having his hands posed on both sides)(wide panel with both parents to the side but in the front as sillhoettes and Hanzo in the middle but a bit far away)

Father – No...is there anything special going on? (looking up while having his hands on his chin, thinking about it)

Hanzo – you guys bought bread?(close up on bread)

Hanzo - So much for saving money, eh?...(begins to sit on floor, behind the table)

*sillhoettes of his parents and each one has a highlighted eye and everything but the eyes and hanzo appears clearly, hanzo is clearly phazed*

Hanzo – I mean...it’s just a bit too much isn’t it? You guys shouldn’t be spending cash like that...

Father – What’s so special about today, anyways?!(squinting a little bit while turning his face slightly to the other side)

Hanzo – Dad, Don’t tell me you forgot?!(bent over forward towards him, mad on top of his father, leaving one panel and traversing to the last panel with his father)

Father – I- uh, I clearly... didnt son you see… today is(while raising hands to sorta defend himself and bending backwards, like reverse bending his back)

Hanzo – I want presents from both of you, now!

Mother – alright, there you go! *gives him a gift* happy birthday, dear

Father – today is your birthday?!

*Hanzo opens it *

Hanzo – really, dad?(Hanzo looks at him with an indiferent expression)

Hanzo - another bucket?! C’mon mom I already have plenty of those! *shows a pile of stylized buckets* *there is a squared speech bubble that says ”inside Hanzo’s closet”*

Mother – I know son, but you know...if we want to move out we need to stick to our budget!

Hanzo – but you always give me buckets! It’d be better if you gave me...idk socks?! (its a down shot from above, as he has the bucket in one of his hands and the other one extended somewhat)

Hanzo - I need those...(close up of his new bucket)

Mother – Fine, I’ll think of a better gift next time(father slowly getting off the floor and standing up with one hand on the knee)

Father – Alright son, It’s my turn, and as your birthday gift

Father – I’ll tell you all about the ritual!

Father – Come with me! (sticking out his hand to Hanzo, as Hanzo looks at him)

Hanzo – right behind you, dad!(Hanzo is standing up and his mother is not in the picture)

Father – you’ve turned 15 and that means (close up of his face as he’s looking forward)

Hanzo – means I get to be strong right?! (close up of Hanzo looking up while talking with passion)

Father – it means… that you’re old enough to be taught the ritual of our people, Hanzo(same close up of father’s face as before but now he’s looking toward hanzo(looking southwest))

Hanzo – do you remember how it was like to learn it?(they’re looking at the bathroom, there’s a clear black outline around the square floor in front of the bathroom)

Father – like it was yesterday!(then Father is lifting it up, and hanzo is looking at him)

Hanzo – so, how was it?(Hanzo asks as he’s looking down as his father has only his neck up out of the hole)

Father – …(close up on Father’s face)

Hanzo - …(close up on Hanzo’s face)

Father – a bit rough...

Hanzo – whuh, what does that mean? (kinda yelling and confused, sweating a bit as he’s nervous and looking down at his father through the hole, as he’s also entering the hole)

(First panel is Hanzo looking down the hole with only his head and an arm showing and his father looking up)

(then there’s a single where he’s falling on top of the screen like he’s spiderman)

(then a zoomed out angle of him flat like bread on the ground)

Father – Son! what I’ll teach you today has been kept a secret from the outside world since it’s very creation, the tool we used to win all wars will be revealed tonight-(then father is shaking Hanzo back and fourth and holding him with both hands like a doll), today is the day your life changes, tell me son, are you ready for it?(Father’s obcessed eyes staring into Hanzo’s eyes)

Hanzo - ...HELL YEA!!!(right)

Father – that’s the spirit , kiddo!!! In this world while most were born special, we weren’t so fortunate to have super powers like the others, this technique made us powerful enough to fight back against the privileged ones, it allowed us to move forward...we call this technique the...

Father - ”Soul-”

Father - “-talk”

Hanzo – awesome!!!

Father - you look ready? Ha!

Hanzo – I’m always ready!(with a cheecky expression)(one arm going up)

Father – That’s my boy!!! don’t worry, I’ve got everything set up

Hanzo – dad… (where I’ve stopped at)

Father – Yea?

Hanzo – What kinda powers you get from the ritual?

Father – this kind right here *controls 2 buckets full of blood with his mind* is called the Ascended type, it makes telekinesis possible for us, both of these buckets weigh about 10 kilos so you’d have to train for a while. Might take you a couple of weeks...

Hanzo – Woahhh, what else can you do?

Father – well, uh, you see, with this ritual, it can let you create things out of nothin-

Hanzo – Woah!!!

Father – that is(hanzo’s smile fading away) if you are the descended type

Hanzo - ...oh

Hanzo – so, How do I know what type I am?

Father – while the ritual is happening your body will feel a motion, and will either float with it or get buried into the ground

Hanzo – WHAT?!

Father – if you float you’re the ascended type and if you get buried underground you’re the descended type

Hanzo – Okay….

Father – don’t worry, you’ll catch the drift when you try it out, let’s begin!

Father – the first step of the ritual is to bathe our body with blood *holds bucket full of human blood*

Hanzo – WHAT?! Re-Re-Really?! Why?!

Father – Yea- *pours bucket full of human blood on himself*

Hanzo – But WHY?! (itty bitty drawing of him over the panel and white space)

Father – To get to the other side of the river, you need a bridge, are we really questioning a 10.000-year-old ritual? (show father’s right arm explaining the stuff while there’s a drawing of the situation in his head but in a smaller scale to fit in the panel)

Hanzo – whuh?! I-I-I don’t care if it’s 10, 50 or 100 thousand years-old! Why do you need the blood, dad?!

Father – Like I said we need a bridge, after crossing it we get to the ritual, the amount of blood you’re bathing in determines the bridge’s sturdiness, at first we need a lot of blood to pave a solid path so in the future, we can cross it with smaller amounts*show an asian bridge and illustrate the situation as, hanzo being the car on the left, the bucket being the bridge and the destination being the ritual, each drawing just has their ”meaning” above them*

Hanzo – how do you even get so much blood, anyways?

Father – any kind of blood will work

Hanzo – that’s not what i asked ...(page 20 includes this dialog and stops here)

Father - *sign* look son, I know you want this but I don’t really think it’s the right time for…(hand on forehead as his eyes are closed and his head is precisely facing down)

Hanzo – What?! What do you mean?! I’m-I’m so ready now! (nervous, with both hands having a triangle like shape that )

Father – you don’t say? (skeptical face )

Hanzo – yea! Look *blood spills on father’s face*

*Hanzo pours the blood from the bucket all top of him and puts the bucket on his head*

*Hanzo’s body is dyed red and all drippy*

Hanzo – what’s next?!

Father – now you just strike a physical deal with your soul *cuts his left hand*(page 21)

Hanzo – WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT? YOU CAN’T WORK LIKE THAT! WE’RE DOOMED WE’LL NEVER LEAVE THIS PLACE, MOM CAN’T KNOW ABOUT THIS, DON’T TELL HER! SHE MIGHT HAVE A HEART ATTACK!

Father – There’s no reason to yell, kiddo, it’ll grow back after the ritual!(dismissive face)

Hanzo – WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT’LL GROW BACK?! *horns grow out of his bucket in such a thick fashion, they make bigger holes in it, from now on we can see the eyes on Hanzo’s face until he switches up buckets*

Father – When practising the soul tak, the user of the technique will be induced to proper caring, outside forces won’t be able to hurt the user in any meaningful way until the latter finishes the activity, while ”soul talking” your soul will heal any injuries that were present previously, recreating any lost and destroyed matter.(have the father rocking Hanzo as a baby, as he’s actually wearing a rough ragged maid costume, as Hanzo has a pacifier on his mouth)

Hanzo – Woah…so...you’re telling me that…(as Hanzo has a pacifier on his mouth)

Father – Like I said *close to his face* you don’t need to worry about my hand *shows hand squirting blood* it’s all part of it

Hanzo – but something like that is so…

Father – Yep, that’s why we keep this ritual to ourselves

Father – It’s like our signature move*Father puts his injured hand forward, and points at the injured hand with his normal hand as his right hand is squirting blood everywhere even at Hanzo’s bucket*

Father – Okay, now let’s get back to business, so...while holding that piece you just cut off, you close your eyes and… *father begins floating*

Hanzo – I don’t know, dad, I don’t know if this is right...(soaked in sweat)

Father – cmon Hanzo Im waiting for you! Ahahahhaha

Father – Do you not trust me(serious look)

Hanzo – I-I-I do! Don’t worry, dad I can do this!(that thinking speech bubble for dialogue, little nervous face again)...*cuts his hand, sfx: SPLASH and begins crying*(shows heart beating at 120 beats per second) (a big arc of blood splashes out of the page)

Hanzo – AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH*the hole background is bright and the black letters pop out behind Hanzo, the entire page is filled with ”AH”*

Father – now close your eye-

Hanzo – It was supposed to just be my hand, dad, my hand!(dried and angered eyes looking at him) (page 25)

Father – cmon! just go with it

(Hanzo’s heart is beating at 200 beats per second, he’s gonna collapse)

Father – (gets closer to him, hugs him and goes ”hey...don’t worry! You’re fine, alright?! You’re doing great!”

Hanzo - I’m sorry, dad i-im trying to(the first two phrases come out muffled as Hanzo’s slowly losing consciousness (I want these panels to look messy, like he’s actually feeling motion sickness))

Hanzo – i’m trying!!!(black void single speech buble)

Father – hey, hey, look at me! This is part of it! All will be well! you said you trust me, right?

Hanzo – I….I do...(*closes eyes and suddenly….he’s passed out*)

Father – ...good luck...(as if something went wrong) (pitch black panel)

Hanzo – dad?!

*Hanzo is in a black space and the only light he sees is his soul*

Hanzo – hoh...

Hanzo – you’re-my soul….right?(soul will have abt 12 different shades of from black to white)

Hanzo – eh?! But they all look the same!

Hanzo –fine! lemme get the second one...weird little thin- (there are 4 lights, and each one is a skill the host can choose from, strength, durability, speed and intelligence)

*extra panels where the light fuses with Hanzo’s skin* then close up on Hanzo’s face as he is

Hanzo’s soul – You. May. Leave. Now

Hanzo – whu-whut?! (he falls to a pit)(creates a hole Hanzo falls into)

Hanzo – Leave?! We’re done already?

*Hanzo looks up*

Father – huh?! I’m sorry but I can’t hear you! Need a helping hand??

Hanzo – dad, your hand-

Father – yea, I know, I’m not the only one with a new limb! hehe

Father – to your left, son!(laughing his ass off)

Hanzo – Wuh-Wahhh*looks at his hand* no wayy *zoomed in high angle of his eyes as he’s surprised at what he sees*

Father – I told you it’d grow back! Don’t you dare mock our ancestors again! *while Hanzo is freaking out at his arm, in the hole*

Father - ...so, you’re gonna ditch the hole or what? I’m starving here!

Hanzo – yeah I’m just-

Hanzo - *in his head* how weird...I can feel every fiber of my body right now...is this temporary?

*the family is having dinner*

Hanzo – it’s unbelievable! That hole in the ground means...(panel of the big hole in the basement)

Father – that you can make anything?! Yup! pretty much!

Mother – congrats babe!..I see you’ve broken your bucket again...

Hanzo - thanks mom...(first panel)

Hanzo – ...even cash, dad?

Father – pretty much!

Hanzo – awesome! That means we can make enough money to move out, right?

(both parents look at him with a surprised face, this is a big panel, its just silent) 3rd n final panel

Father – uhhh, how was the talk? Did the soul tell you anything special? (close in his face as he acknowledges he shouldn’t have suggested that)(the thing abt Hanzo is that he’s actually really smart and aware of his surroundings and body language, he’s sort of a tortured/tormented psychopath? Maybe if he had a regular life he woulda been more manipulative but he isnt and doesnt act like that, he’s pretty self-centered though and smart as well but not that smart, he’s more egotistical than he is smart)

Hanzo – (removing the broken bucket)wh-no..not really? It just kept on...(having the broken bucket ) repeating the same thing over and over-(close up on eyes)

Father – what did it tell you?..(same kind of close up)

Hanzo – to choose one.?(speech ballon on top of 2nd panel’s gutter but connected to the first one as it’s Hanzo’s speech ballon)

Father – that’s all it told you? It’s quite strange...

Hanzo – yea? Is it supposed to say that?

Father – No, i mean it’s supposed to but not...like this…(close up on face with hand on face as head looks upwards) (ending of page 32)

Mother – Shin, what does that mean?(close up on mouth)

Father – well uhm, it doesnt really mean much its just that…(close up on face(claustrophobic zoom))

Mother – what is it?!(Hanzo trying to activate powers)

Hanzo – *tries* uhm...dad, Why won’t my power activate?(ending of page 33)

Father – you need to picture the things you wanna create, Hanzo! *while looking nervously at Mother*

Hanzo – what kind of advice is that? The sword from Villains of the knight was all I was thinking of (note: Villains of the knight is a Celestian comic book series)

Father – (laughing) creating a sword at your level should not be easy! start small! work your way up!

Hanzo – I know, dad! That’s literally what I’m trying to do!

Hanzo – ...

Hanzo – could you train me?

Father – uhm..look it’s been busy at the job lately…

Hanzo – what?! (page 34)

Hanzo – dad, I need to get stronger if i wanna be like Sky Knight!(first panel)(protagonist from Villains of the knight )

Father – work is really getting the best of me recently, sorry son(second panel)

Father – maybe...next week?(second panel)

Hanzo – Growing up…was it like this for you too?.. How’d you master your psychic ability?

Father – when at your age objects beyond the size of a spoon exhausted me, working on your physicals deteriorate your powers by a grandiose margin as you deviate from a true connection with your soul *he is controlling a spoon as he says this*

Hanzo – that’s...not what I was talking about…

Father – then what were you–?

Hanzo – going upstairs…(page 36)

*I want to show several panels of Hanzo slowly leaving as he’s sad asf*(an entire page for him to go up the stairs, 37)[page 37 will be drawn after the series is done, not now, cus its an extra page in which i can waste time on rn]

Hanzo – work my way up, eh?...what if I… (says this while sad)

(light comes on his face and he goes downstairs)

”Cable! did you see that?”

Mother – I’ll go, dammit! (this last panel is gonna be the aftermath of the shattered pieces of the blade Hanzo made)

Hanzo – the blade broke...what a ripoff (page 43)

LATER THAT NIGHT

I saw seekers look at the damage my horns made(looking at them from afar, as Glazer is eyefucking the house and Cable is sleeping completely)

mother, I dont care if I can’t leave the house, I care about having to die here

if those guys ever hurt us...

I know how you feel sweethear-

All of those books you gave me…education feels like a mockery when freedom is obstructed

Father – I think it’s time to wrap up, kid! Your mother is waiting for you downstairs

Hanzo – Mother said she’d train me after my training with dad, when she said that...I got a bit skeptical...when i was younger she’d train me and all but…

thought we were going to train upstairs... *as he’s going down the stairs he looks at the following scene, where his mother greets him and the background is an entire farm*

a hole?! (comes out of the ground the same way the bathroom has a basement but below the actual basement there is an underground farm, and its completely gigantic)

Mother – welcome!

Hanzo – what the fuck?!

Mother – its the garden!

Hanzo – a garden…underground?

Mother – where’d you think we get our veggies from?

Hanzo – oh, wow, its just that, i don’t think i’ve ever been to this place…(page 50)

Mother – you haven’t been here since you were little, I wouldn’t blame you for not remembering this place

Mother – So, lets begin!

Mother – do you remember anything I taught you back then?

Hanzo – a bit...

Mother – ...our horns react to our emotional state, whether you’re happy or sad they can grow exponentially

Hanzo – Can they be used for battles like dad’s powers?

Mother – what?! No!..our people use their horns to communicate with other animals

Hanzo – yeaa...but that’s kinda lame, mom

Hanzo – what else can we do with these horns, they’ve gotta have some use, other than being able to talk to animals(page 51)

Mother – Well, by using your horns you can ask plants to grow faster like this *shows flower growing rapidly*

Hanzo – How LAMEEEE, mom! Don’t you have any ancient technique that’d make me powerful like dad?

Mother – No! Look...if you don’t wanna learn how to talk animals, well thats fine! but we still have to train so you don’t lose control again!

Hanzo – sure!

Mother – focus on your emotions, meditate so we can slow down your feelings, it will be easier to retract our horns see *she then retracts her horns*

Hanzo – I see...*retracts one of his horns*

Hanzo – I did it! *horn gets 3 times bigger than before*

Hanzo – awwww
