Teaser Video
This teaser video for the "Drones & Ai" course was filmed with a DJI Mini 2 and its built-in Ai functionality. Some clever editing and usage/mix of drone footage as well as screen-recording of the DJI Fly app was used to make it look like as if the drone was completely autonomously filming this sequence.
This is the Behind-the-scenes video for the course teaser sequence. It was filmed with an Insta360 OneX2 360-degree camera offering a different, behind-the-scenes perspective.
As with all 360-videos, you may either navigate around the video with your mouse or spatially by watching this with suitable VR glasses.
Opening Sequence
This quirky open sequence for the course was filmed with a DJI Ryze Tello and a third-party smart-phone app called TelloMe. The app contains simple algorithms that add so called active-tracking functionality to the otherwise toy-grade drone.
Although this is the only time the drone is used in this course it is worth nothing that this tiny drone is programmable with Python meaning it can trace simple geometrical patterns and/or exhibit swarming behaviour if combined with more than one Tello drone.
This is the 360 behind-the-scenes video of the opening sequence with the DJI Ryze Tello drone and third-party smart-phone app called TelloMe.
From panning through the 360 video you get a good idea of the local surroundings including people passing by as well as trees and other structures in the park.
When flying you always need to maintain a situational awareness and dynamically adjust your flying style.

AI-augmented sUAV flights...
This is a video demonstrating several fully AI-augmented flight patterns ("Quickshots") with the DJI Mini 2 and using its native smart-phone app (DJI FlyApp) to track a static structure / point of interest.
The 1st flying sequence is a circle pattern around a building structure leading to a nice aerial video - and a similar recording was used to produce a marketing video for the café within the building.
The 2nd flying sequence is the classic "dronie" shot by flying backwards away from the building and increasing its height at the same time.
This is a video demonstrating several fully AI-augmented flight patterns with the DJI Mini 2 and using its third-party smart-phone app (Litchi) to track a person.
The 1st flying sequence uses Litchi's "follow" mode which means the AI stays at the programmed height/distance and then - via GPS coordinates - can work out the position of the person holding the transmitter. It then follows by augmenting the flight of the sUAV.
The 2nd flying sequence uses Litchi's "focus" mode which gives somewhat more control to the drone pilot and uses AI to augment the flight by the sUAV focussing on the pilot's position (determined again by the transmitter's GPS coordinates).
