ART

The visual arts are an integral part of everyday life, permeating all levels of human creativity, expression, communication and understanding. Art education connects students with their own culture as well as with the wider world. Working in the arts helps learners to develop creative problem-solving skills. Here at AEA, the art curriculum is developed alongside the National Core Art Standards to make connections with the students' grade level IB units of inquiry and foster a growth mindset in the creation of their artwork and the development of their art-making skills. Students are introduced to a variety of art media and artists from cultures around the world throughout history and are encouraged to challenge themselves to learn and grow and think as an artist.
