The Shree Cutch Satsang Swaminarayan Temple was built in 1943. It is associated with the Swaminarayan tradition, a sect of Hinduism that traces its origins back to Lord Swaminarayan. 

The fort was built by the Portuguese between 1593 and 1596 to secure their trade routes and protect the port of Mombasa. It was strategically located to control the entrance to the Old Town of Mombasa.
