Our Centre is dedicated to fostering student development from Kindergarten through Grade 9, offering personalized tutoring services tailored to each student's unique needs. Our approach focuses on meeting students where they are in their learning journey and providing targeted support to enhance their academic skills. By building a strong foundation of knowledge and boosting confidence, we aim to empower students to achieve their full potential and foster long-term educational growth.
Our main approach is by providing Group Tutoring Programs. It encourages collaboration, discussion and peer learning among students while still receiving guidance from our tutors. Not only do we build strategies and boost student's performance in their studies but we see a huge increase in student's confidence. Our Programs cap out at 5-6 students a session.
We offer very limited 1:1 tutoring sessions for students who struggle to remain focused in a group setting. Our 1:1 program offer a more individualized approach that we then carry out into a Group Session. Our goal is to get students to collaborate with one another.
I am the founder and owner of Advocate Little Minds, a business driven by my passion for supporting students who face challenges along their educational journey. Having personally experienced difficulties in school, I understand the importance of personalized support and perseverance. Education did not come easily to me, and I had to work hard to meet expectations and achieve academic success. This lived experience has fueled my commitment to helping young learners thrive. Establishing Advocate Little Minds has been a long-held dream, and I feel incredibly fortunate to collaborate with a team of dedicated educators who share a genuine passion for student success.
I have been a certified teacher for the past three years, qualified to teach at the Primary, Junior, and Intermediate levels, with a particular passion for working with younger learners. My professional journey began over nine years ago as a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE), during which I worked in a variety of childcare settings. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Studies from the University of Guelph-Humber, followed by the completion of a Bachelor of Education (Primary/Junior) from Lakehead University. These experiences, combined with my ongoing work through Advocate Little Minds, have provided me with a deep and diverse understanding of supporting children both inside and outside the classroom.
I am incredibly fortunate to be supported by a dedicated team that shares my vision of creating diverse learning opportunities for students across Grey-Bruce County. Together, we are committed to making a positive impact in the lives of the students we serve.
