classroom Information

Absences: Email Mrs. Terhorst at sterhorst@ausd.net to report an absence. Please limit unnecessary absences/tardies whenever possible. School should be the priority. Advanced notification is most appreciated.

Tardiness: Our day begins as soon as the children enter the virtual classroom. Directions for the morning's work is given and explained at this time. If your child is late, they may have a difficult time understanding the assignment. Any student arriving after 8:20 a.m. will need to enter through the office and be marked tardy.

Departures: Students are dismissed at 2:35 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday - Friday, while Tuesday has early dismissal at 1:20 p.m. On designated Minimum Days, students are dismissed at 12:25 p.m. Collaboration Minimum Day dismissal is at 11:40 a.m. Please be prompt when picking up your child.

Personal Items: The school's office will not accept the dropping off of personal items (i.e. Chromebooks, lunches, jackets, water bottles, homework, etc.). School lunches may be purchased and the school has water fountains for hydration. Please make sure your child is well prepared prior to coming to school.

Nutrition & Lunch: Your child may bring a healthy snack for morning recess or purchase the brunch provided by the cafeteria. Please make sure your child has a sack lunch, knows his/her student ID#, or has money to purchase lunch at the cafeteria. You may deposit money into your child's account for cafeteria lunches. Please refrain from sending chips, cookies, or candy to school with your child. We are trying to promote healthy eating habits. You can refer to our Nutritional Services web page for more information. Complete a Free and Reduced Meal Application.

Classroom Celebrations: This year we will have 2 classroom celebrations. Unfortunately, we will not be able to celebrate individual students' birthdays in the classroom with goody bags or cupcakes. Please do not send those items since we cannot use them. Additional information regarding classroom celebrations can be found in your Parent Handbook.
