Three stages of natural gas filtration

To turn natural gas into a usable form of energy, you need to remove both the solid and liquid contaminants. The raw natural gas passes through three different stages of treatment.

Strainers: The basket strainers are the first equipment used for purifying the natural gas in the pipeline. They are used to remove large solid contaminants. Separators: The separators are used in the second stage of filtration, and they are used to remove liquid contaminants such as hydrocarbon oils, water, and gels. Coalescer Filter: This is the final stage in purifying the raw natural gas extracted from earth’s crust. After passing through strainers that remove large solid contaminants and the separators that remove liquid particles, the natural gas still contains fine particles which need to be removed.
