About the Session
Join the Google Cloud Advanced Computing Community (GCACC) for our special 2026 end-of-year retrospective as we look back on a landmark year of scientific and computational breakthroughs on Google Cloud, and how this provides the most capable, integrated cloud platform for science and engineering in 2027.
This session will feature a conversation-style roundtable with four of Google Cloud's leading HPC product managers. The panel will discuss the major infrastructure milestones that became available in 2026—including our bare-metal H4D VMs (powered by AMD Turin and ultra-low-latency RDMA networking), Managed Lustre parallel file storage with advanced performance tiering, A4 VMs delivering live NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs to customer hands, the latest Google Axion processors and TPU v8 accelerators, and much more. We will discuss how this advanced HPC infrastructure is complemented by new frontier models like Gemini 4 Carbon and agentic science tools like Antigravity and AlphaEvolve, and how these infrastructure and AI together will enable customers like Citadel and NOAA to run massive-scale simulation, surrogate, and analytics applications and workflows seamlessly.
We will wrap up the session by reflecting on what made 2026 so impactful and sharing a fun "holiday challenge" to keep your skills sharp over the break. We will hint at what lies ahead—saving the major forward-looking product roadmaps, initiatives, and vision for Annie Ma-Weaver's highly anticipated kick-off session to start the year: Google Cloud in 2027.
Additionally, because GCACC is a true community of practice, we want to hear from you! During this session, we will be actively soliciting your suggestions, content requests, and format ideas to help us co-create the ultimate community experience for 2027.
