About the Session
Arm’s modern architecture and flexible licensing model have transformed modern high-performance computing (HPC) and AI infrastructure. By enabling deep architectural customization and workload-specific optimization, Arm empowers silicon innovators to build powerful, energy-efficient processors tailored precisely to computationally intensive workloads.
In this session, we examine how technology leaders across the industry leverage custom Arm silicon—from pioneering supercomputing processors by Fujitsu (A64FX) and accelerated platforms by NVIDIA (Grace CPU), to tailored silicon deployments across all major cloud providers. We will explore the architectural principles driving this momentum, followed by a focused look at Google Axion—Google’s custom Arm-based CPU family designed to deliver significant performance and price-performance gains across advanced computing, data analytics, and AI workloads.

Dave Pellerin leads Inbound Product Management for HPC at Google Cloud. He has decades of experience in digital design, embedded systems, and accelerated computing in a wide range of domains including electronic design automation, life sciences, and image processing. Dave is the author of five technical books related to digital design, high-level synthesis, and hardware-accelerated computing. He has been a frequent speaker at industry events including SC, SEMICON, Design Automation Conference, and the Embedded Systems Conference.
