macerators

A macerator is a plumbing device that grinds up human waste and other solids into a liquid slurry, which can then be pumped through a small-diameter pipe to a sewer or septic tank. It is used to install toilets and other bathroom fixtures in locations where gravity drainage is not possible, such as basements, lofts, or areas far from the main soil stack. Macerators are also made for use with kitchen sinks and appliances like washing machines and dishwashers.
