Privacy Policy
Last Updated: January 22, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Clock - Simple Alarm Clock ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use our Android application. The App is developed by Advance Logic.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. Clock - Simple Alarm Clock is a clean and easy-to-use alarm clock app that lets you set reliable alarms and reminders, customize the look with different themes, place handy widgets on your home screen, use smart bedtime features to help improve your sleep routine, and wake up to loud, attention-grabbing alarm sounds. We do not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal information to use any part of the App. Every piece of data you create—your chosen alarm times, reminder notes, theme selections, widget layouts, bedtime schedules, stopwatch and timer sessions—is processed and stored exclusively on your own device. Nothing is sent to our servers or to us at any time.
We do not collect any personal data that could identify you as an individual, such as your name, email address, phone number, exact location, contacts, messages, or any other identifying information. The App operates completely without user profiles or cloud synchronization.
This Privacy Policy is designed to comply with Google Play Developer Program Policies (particularly the User Data and Data Safety sections), the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for users in the European Union, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA), and the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA).
By installing or using the App, you accept the practices described in this document.
1. Introduction and Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to everyone who downloads, installs, or uses Clock - Simple Alarm Clock on any Android device. It covers the entire user experience—from opening the App for the first time, setting your first alarm, choosing a theme, adding widgets to your home screen, using the bedtime calculator, running the stopwatch or timer, to managing ongoing alarms and reminders. The policy explains what information (if any) is involved, why the App needs certain Android permissions to function correctly, how third-party libraries and services are used only for specific non-personal purposes (such as displaying ads or collecting anonymized crash reports), and what privacy rights you have depending on where you live. Because all your personal settings and data stay on your device and are never transmitted to us or any external server, the App follows a strict local-only data model. The only external interactions occur when the App loads advertisements (to keep the core version free) or sends very limited, anonymized usage statistics to help us improve stability and features. This document is written in plain language so you can easily understand our approach to privacy, no matter your technical background.
2. Information We Collect
We do not collect any personal information from you when you use Clock - Simple Alarm Clock. The App never asks for, receives, or stores details such as your name, email address, phone number, home address, payment card information (except what Google Play handles for purchases), precise location, contacts list, text messages, photos, or any other data that could identify who you are.
All content you create inside the App—including alarm times with labels and repeat patterns, reminder titles and notes, selected themes that change colors and styles, widget sizes/colors/placements on your home screen, bedtime target times and calculated wake-up suggestions, stopwatch lap times, timer countdowns—is generated, saved, and managed entirely on your device using local storage technologies like RoomDB. This ensures your schedules, preferences, and usage history remain private and accessible only to you.
The only non-personal, anonymized information that leaves your device comes from third-party services we integrate:
Advertising networks may collect device advertising identifiers, rough location (only if you allow it), and general app-usage patterns to show relevant ads.
Firebase Analytics may record anonymized events such as “alarm was set,” “theme changed,” or “app crashed” to help us understand feature popularity and fix problems. These collections do not include anything that personally identifies you and are described in detail in sections 6 and 7.
3. Legal Bases for Processing (GDPR)
For users in the European Union or others to whom GDPR applies, we rely on legitimate interests as the primary legal basis for any minimal processing activities. This basis allows us to handle very limited, non-personal data when it is necessary to provide the App’s core functionality (local alarm and reminder storage), maintain a free version through advertising, and improve the App using anonymized analytics and crash reports. For example, legitimate interests support displaying contextually useful ads and understanding broad usage trends (like which bedtime feature is most popular) without identifying individuals. Third-party services (Google AdMob, Firebase) rely on their own legitimate interests or, where required, your consent given through Android permissions (such as granting INTERNET or POST_NOTIFICATIONS). Because we do not collect or control any personal data ourselves, the processing we are responsible for is extremely narrow and strictly necessary. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests at any time by contacting us or by managing device permissions and ad settings.
4. Permissions We Use in Our App and Why
Clock - Simple Alarm Clock requests only the Android permissions that are strictly required to deliver reliable alarms, full-screen wake-ups, notifications, background operation, and shake-to-dismiss functionality. We request them transparently at the moment they become necessary, and you can always review, grant, deny, or revoke them in your device’s Settings → Apps → Clock - Simple Alarm Clock → Permissions. Here is a detailed explanation of each permission and its purpose:
android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS — Allows the App to display notifications when an alarm rings, a timer finishes, a stopwatch is running, an upcoming alarm is approaching, or a bedtime reminder triggers. Without this permission, you might miss important alerts even if the App is closed or in the background.
android.permission.SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM, android.permission.USE_EXACT_ALARM, com.android.alarm.permission.SET_ALARM — These permissions are the foundation of the alarm clock. They enable the system to schedule alarms at precise times you select, trigger loud sounds, and handle bedtime reminders accurately—even when the device is asleep or the App is not running.
android.permission.INTERNET and android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — Required to load advertisements from AdMob and other networks, check for new versions of the App through Google Play, and send anonymized usage statistics to Firebase Analytics. No personal data is sent.
android.permission.WAKE_LOCK and android.permission.DISABLE_KEYGUARD — These allow the App to wake the screen and temporarily disable the lock screen when an alarm triggers, so you can see the full alarm interface and dismiss or snooze it easily.
android.permission.USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT — Enables the App to show a full-screen alarm or bedtime reminder when the device is locked, making sure the alert is highly visible and hard to miss.
android.permission.RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — After your phone restarts, this permission lets the App automatically detect the boot and reschedule all your active alarms so nothing is lost.
android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE and android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE (Android 14+) — Permits the App to run foreground services that keep notifications visible for active timers, stopwatches, and alarms, and helps maintain reliability after reboots.
android.permission.REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS — Requests that the system does not aggressively restrict the App in the background due to battery-saving rules, ensuring alarms are not delayed or silenced unexpectedly.
android.permission.SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW — Allows the App to draw bedtime reminder overlays or alarm dismissal screens on top of other applications, even when the App is not in the foreground.
android.hardware.sensor.accelerometer — If you enable the shake-to-snooze or shake-to-dismiss option, this sensor detects when you shake the device to stop an alarm without touching the screen.
android.permission.START_FOREGROUND_SERVICE_FROM_BACKGROUND — Enables the App to launch a foreground service immediately after a device reboot (via the boot receiver) to quickly reschedule alarms and prevent any from being missed.
We never request unnecessary permissions. If you deny any of them, the affected feature may not work fully, but the rest of the App remains usable.
5. Data Storage and Security
Clock - Simple Alarm Clock stores all your data locally on your Android device using RoomDB, a secure and efficient on-device database provided by Android Jetpack. This includes every alarm you set (time, label, repeat days, sound), reminder note, theme choice, widget configuration (size, color, position), bedtime target and suggested wake time, stopwatch sessions, and timer countdowns. Because everything stays on your device, there is no risk of data being intercepted during transmission or stored on remote servers we control.
We apply additional security practices such as string obfuscation with the Paranoid library to protect sensitive text in the code, Hilt dependency injection for cleaner and more maintainable architecture, and careful runtime permission handling with Dexter. The App does not use cloud backups, remote sync, or any server-side storage for user data. While we follow industry-standard development practices to reduce risks, we cannot guarantee absolute security because factors outside our control (such as device theft, malware from other sources, or Android vulnerabilities) can exist. Third-party services (ads and analytics) manage their own limited data according to their published security standards.
6. Third-Party Libraries & SDKs Used in Our App
To deliver a polished, responsive, and reliable experience, we include the following third-party libraries and SDKs. Almost all of them operate completely locally on your device:
Google AdMob — Displays advertisements that allow us to offer the App for free. AdMob may collect anonymized device advertising IDs, usage patterns, and approximate location (only if permitted) to serve more relevant ads. You can limit personalized advertising in your device settings. More information: Google Advertising Policies
Firebase Analytics — Collects anonymized usage events (e.g., how many people use bedtime features or change themes) and crash reports to help us identify bugs and prioritize improvements. No personal identifiers are included. Details: Firebase Privacy and Security
RoomDB (androidx.room:room) — Provides structured local storage for all your alarms, reminders, themes, widgets, and other settings. Nothing is sent off-device.
SDP (com.intuit.sdp:sdp-android) — Ensures the user interface scales correctly and looks good on phones and tablets of different sizes and screen densities.
EventBus (org.greenrobot:eventbus) — Enables efficient communication between different parts of the App (for example, updating the widget when you change an alarm).
Gson — Used for any local JSON conversion tasks that may occur during internal data handling.
NumberPicker (io.github.ShawnLin013:number-picker) — Creates a smooth, custom spinner for selecting exact hours and minutes when setting alarms or timers.
AmbilWarna Color Picker (com.github.yukuku:ambilwarna) — Lets you choose custom colors for widget backgrounds and text directly in the App.
Hilt — Implements dependency injection in our MVVM architecture, reducing boilerplate code and making the App easier to test and maintain.
Play Update (com.google.android.play:app-update) — Checks for and notifies you about new versions available on Google Play.
Dexter (com.karumi:dexter) — Simplifies asking for and managing runtime permissions in a user-friendly way.
Shimmer (com.facebook.shimmer:shimmer) — Adds attractive loading animations while content prepares (e.g., when applying a new theme).
Paranoid (io.michaelrocks.paranoid) — Obfuscates sensitive strings in the code to make reverse-engineering more difficult and improve overall security.
7. Advertising, Analytics, and Tracking Technologies
Yes, the App displays advertisements using Google AdMob, AdX, Facebook (Meta) Audience Network, InMobi, Vungle, and AppLovin. These networks show banner, interstitial, or rewarded ads inside the App. To make ads more relevant, they may use your device’s advertising identifier, general app usage information, and (if you allow it) approximate location data. You can reduce or stop personalized ads by going to Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization on your device. For Facebook/Meta ads: Facebook Privacy Policy.
Yes, the App uses analytics through Firebase Analytics. It collects anonymized data about which features are used most often, how long sessions last, and whether crashes occur. This helps us fix problems and decide which improvements to make next. No information collected by Firebase can be used to identify you personally.
8. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Clock - Simple Alarm Clock is a native Android application and does not use web cookies. However, advertising and analytics providers may use equivalent mobile technologies such as advertising IDs, device fingerprints, or event tokens to remember ad preferences, track impressions, and measure campaign performance. These identifiers work similarly to cookies but are managed at the device level. You can reset your advertising ID or limit ad tracking through Android settings. Third-party providers explain their use of these technologies in their own privacy policies linked above.
9. Detailed Information on the Processing of Your Personal Data
We do not collect, store, or process any personal data in Clock - Simple Alarm Clock. All user-created content (alarms, reminders, themes, widgets, bedtime settings) is processed locally on your device using RoomDB and other on-device libraries. No data profiling, automated decision-making, or behavioral analysis is performed by us.
Third-party services process limited, non-personal data independently:
Ad networks match anonymized device signals to advertising profiles to select ads and log impressions/clicks for payment reconciliation.
Firebase Analytics aggregates event data (e.g., “alarm set,” “widget added”) into usage statistics and crash diagnostics to generate reports that help us improve the App. No personal data is involved in these processes, and no sensitive categories of data are collected or processed.
10. Data Retention and Deletion
Your personal data—alarm schedules, reminder notes, theme preferences, widget settings, bedtime calculations, stopwatch and timer records—remains stored on your device for as long as you keep the App installed and do not manually delete individual items. You can delete specific alarms, reminders, or all settings directly inside the App at any time. Uninstalling Clock - Simple Alarm Clock through your device’s application manager triggers Android to automatically remove all local databases, cached files, preference data, and other App-related storage from your device.
Because we do not receive or store any of your data, we do not apply any automatic retention periods or deletion schedules to user content.
The only data retained outside your device is the limited, anonymized information collected by third-party services:
Firebase Analytics usually keeps raw event and usage data for up to 14 months before it is either deleted or rolled into long-term aggregated statistics.
Advertising networks generally retain impression, click, and conversion data for short periods for fraud prevention, billing, and reporting purposes.
If you revoke permissions (such as INTERNET or POST_NOTIFICATIONS), disable personalized ads, or opt out through third-party tools, no new data will be collected by those services. Uninstalling the App is the simplest way to erase all local App data. We recommend checking your device’s file manager occasionally if you have ever exported any data manually.
11. Payment Terms and In-App Purchases
Clock - Simple Alarm Clock offers optional in-app purchases and subscriptions to unlock premium features such as an ad-free experience, additional themes, advanced widget options, or extra customization tools. All payments and subscriptions are processed securely through Google Play Billing. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information—including credit/debit card numbers, billing addresses, or Google account passwords.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel them before the next renewal date. You can manage, pause, or cancel your subscription at any time directly in your Google Play account settings. If you cancel a subscription, you will continue to enjoy premium features until the end of the current paid period.
Google may share limited, non-personal purchase information with us (such as subscription status or validity period) so we can correctly enable or disable premium features in the App.
All refund and cancellation requests must be handled through Google Play following Google Play’s refund policies. We do not process refunds directly.
We do not share your purchase or subscription information with any third parties except when required by Google for payment verification and processing. All in-app purchases and subscriptions comply with the Google Play Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy.
12. User Rights Under GDPR
If you are in the European Union or GDPR applies to you, you have the following rights regarding any data processing (although we hold no personal data directly): the right to access information we process, rectify inaccuracies, erase data, restrict processing, data portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may also withdraw consent for permissions at any time. Because we do not collect personal data, most rights relate to third-party anonymized data. To exercise these rights, contact us by email. We will assist you and, where relevant, direct you to third-party privacy controls (such as Google’s ad settings dashboard).
13. User Rights Under CCPA/CPRA
California residents have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA). Even though we do not collect or sell personal information, we describe your rights here for transparency:
Right to know what categories of personal information (if any) we or service providers collect, the purposes, and sources.
Right to delete personal information we hold (achieved by uninstalling the App).
Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell data; you can limit ad personalization via device settings).
Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
Right to limit use of sensitive personal information.
Right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights.
To make a request, contact us by email. For data held by third parties, use their official opt-out tools (linked in section 6).
14. “Do Not Track” (CalOPPA)
Under CalOPPA, we respect “Do Not Track” signals and similar device-level preferences. If your Android device has “Opt out of Ads Personalization” enabled or sends a Do Not Track signal, advertising networks we use (such as Google AdMob) will generally honor it by serving non-personalized ads and limiting certain tracking. Not all third-party providers handle Do Not Track uniformly, so the most reliable way to control tracking is through your device’s advertising and privacy settings.
15. International Data Transfers
Clock - Simple Alarm Clock does not transfer any personal data because we do not collect it. However, the limited anonymized data collected by third-party services (such as Firebase Analytics or Google AdMob) may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where these companies operate. These providers use safeguards recognized under GDPR and CCPA/CPRA (such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms) to help protect data during international transfers.
16. Protection from Malware and Network Misuse
We build Clock - Simple Alarm Clock using secure coding practices, regular dependency updates, string obfuscation, and careful permission management to minimize security risks. The App does not contain malware, spyware, or code intended to harm your device or misuse your network. Internet access is used only for legitimate purposes: loading advertisements, checking for updates, and sending anonymized analytics. If you ever notice unusual behavior, it may be unrelated to our App; we recommend using reputable antivirus software and keeping your device updated. Report any concerns to us immediately.
17. Links to Other Websites and Apps
The App may contain links to external resources, such as the privacy policies of third-party advertising or analytics providers (e.g., Google, Firebase). These links are provided for your convenience and information only. We do not control, endorse, or take responsibility for the content, privacy practices, or security of any external websites or services you access through these links. Always review their policies before interacting.
18. Children’s Privacy
Clock - Simple Alarm Clock is not designed for, directed to, or intended to attract children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided information, we will take steps to delete it. Parents and guardians should supervise children’s use of mobile applications.
19. Compliance with Legal Obligations and Law Enforcement
We will comply with valid legal requests, court orders, subpoenas, or government demands if required by law, including those related to national security or law enforcement. However, because we do not collect, store, or control any personal data, it is extremely unlikely that we would have information to disclose in such cases. Third-party providers handle their own legal compliance according to their policies.
20. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App (new features, updated libraries), legal requirements, or our practices. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document and, where appropriate, provide notice inside the App. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of Clock - Simple Alarm Clock after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
21. Contact Us
