At the European College of Dance, we believe that it’s never too late to embrace the beauty of ballet. Our Adults Ballet Classes London are designed for everyone — whether you’re stepping into the studio for the very first time or returning after years away. We’ve created an inclusive, structured, and inspiring space where adults can learn authentic ballet technique, improve posture and flexibility, and rediscover confidence through movement.
At the heart of our Adults Ballet Classes London is the Vaganova Method, a world-renowned Russian ballet technique that blends elegance, control, and musicality. Developed by Agrippina Vaganova, this method unites the best elements of French, Italian, and Russian ballet traditions.
We focus on softness, fluidity, and precision, helping dancers understand body alignment, arm coordination, and expressive artistry. While we primarily teach the Vaganova technique, we also incorporate Italian and American styles to provide a well-rounded approach to classical ballet training.
This method is ideal for adults seeking structured progress, allowing each dancer to develop at their own pace while building real technical foundation.
Our ballet program follows a progressive syllabus taught from September to June. We recommend consistent attendance to help your body adapt and refine technique with each class. Every adult student studies a detailed Vaganova Ballet Syllabus, designed to enhance physical strength, posture, and musical interpretation.
We offer multiple levels to suit every dancer:
Beginners Ballet – Tuesdays at 8:30 PM
Beginners/Intermediate Ballet – Tuesdays at 7:30 PM
Intermediate Ballet – Tuesdays at 6:30 PM
Beginners/Intermediate (with or without pointe) – Thursdays at 7:00 PM
Beginners (with or without pointe) – Thursdays at 8:00 PM
Beginners & Intermediate Open Class – Sundays at 10:30 AM
Each class works toward the ARBTA examination, giving you an opportunity to gain an accredited certificate recognised by the BDQT, Ofqual, GQual, and UCAS.
Completion of the course awards the ARBTA Certificate — an achievement that reflects both discipline and artistic growth.
Many adults come to ballet seeking more than dance skills — they’re looking for balance, confidence, grace, and mindfulness. Ballet enhances posture, strengthens the core, and refines coordination, all while nurturing your creative spirit.
You’ll also connect with a warm community of like-minded learners who share your passion for movement. Whether your goal is personal expression, performance, or fitness, our Adults Ballet Classes London provide a supportive and empowering environment to achieve it.
If you’re new to ballet, you don’t need specialised attire right away. Simply wear comfortable leggings, a fitted T-shirt, and socks. As you progress, we can guide you on choosing suitable ballet shoes and attire to enhance comfort and form.
We also offer a 12-week Adults Dance Course for those who wish to explore multiple techniques beyond ballet — including contemporary dance, private tuitions, and one-to-one sessions that help boost confidence and refine technique.
These options allow adults to build technical skill, gain performance awareness, and deepen artistic connection to movement.
At the European College of Dance, we’ve seen countless adults transform through ballet — physically, mentally, and emotionally. Whether you aim to perfect your turnout, improve flexibility, or simply reconnect with your creative side, we’ll guide you every step of the way.
