High School Completion

The Maine Adult Education system provides two options for those seeking to complete their high school education. Both options provide a pathway to improved career prospects, further education, and increased earning potential.

HiSET

HiSET™ provides adults with the opportunity to obtain a high school equivalency certification with the same legal standing as a high school diploma. Through a pre-testing, preparation, and testing program. HiSET allows test-takers to demonstrate proficiency of the academic skills and knowledge expected by employers and post-secondary institutions. To learn more about the HiSET™ and how to prepare, contact your local adult education program.

Adult High School Diploma

Adult High School Diploma programs provide coursework for high school credit that leads to an adult high school diploma. This diploma is awarded by the local school district. Programs vary from location to location. For more information, contact your local adult education program.
