The main inspiration for this game's concept was our collective passion for fantastical and RPG themes. The game's main premise however stemmed from Dead By Daylight's gameplay loop of completing tasks to escape, avoiding the enemy, and finding assisting.
Initially, we were going to consider using square tiles to let the player move, however, this would create confusion around abilities being triggered, as the word "adjacent" would have to be re-defined to the player. Plus, restricting movement to only 4 directions would hold back freedom of movement for a game heavily reliant on moving around.
