WE DID IT!
Congratulations to President Elect Joe Biden and Vice President Elect Kamala Harris!
This victory represents every dollar you donated, every call you made, every door you knocked, every person you texted, and every social media post you made encouraging Democrats to get out and vote.
Thank you for organizing during a pandemic, thank you for voting, and most importantly, thank you for restoring the soul of this nation!
Democratically Yours,

Dear Sisters,
Are you still on Cloud 9? I know I am. Because we did it. Voters across America rejected the hateful and divisive rhetoric of Donald Trump and elected Joe Biden as our 46th President. President-Elect Biden is already hard at work -- announcing his COVID Advisory Committee filled with esteemed medical professionals and reminding us what Presidential press conferences should look like. And certainly, one part of the celebration that means so much to us is that Kamala Harris will be our Vice President.
During her speech on Saturday, Vice President-Elect Harris invoked her mother. She said,
"I am thinking about her and about the generations of women, Black women, Asian, white, Latina, Native American women, who throughout our nation's history have paved the way for this moment tonight. ......Women who fought and sacrificed so much for equality and liberty and justice for all, including the Black women who are too often overlooked, but so often prove they are the backbone of our democracy."
It’s not lost on me that it’s been 48 years since Shirley Chisolm tried to break the glass ceiling on the Presidency of these United States. A woman of color was the first to stand up and have the audacity to say I belong in the White House. And it was a woman of color who broke the glass ceiling and will cross that White House threshold for the first time as Vice President. And while she is the first, she will not be the last.
My hearts are with each and every one of you as we continue to savor this victory and prepare for the good work ahead. Thank you for all the calls you made, the organizing you did, the texts you sent, the voters you encouraged. All of these millions of actions have led us to this history-making result, with more people voting for our ticket than ever before.
And the good news is that the Senate is still up for grabs! Stay tuned to hear how you can help propel Rev. Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossof to victory in Georgia. Because the good work isn’t over, it’s just beginning.
Sincerely,
Chair Lottie Shackelford
