Fall of Senior Year of High School (2023)
My name is Adriana Arreola, and I am completing a bachelor's degree in Medical Imaging Technology with a minor in Health Administration. I am interested in becoming a critical role in a hospital setting, as well as learning about radiographic images. From when I was little to today, I have always been interested in looking at my brother's and friends' x-rays when they had an injury. This led to my passion for radiography and other medical imaging processes. Being able to see the human body in such ways the human eye can't ever see is fascinating, and I am motivated to learn more.
Throughout high school, I had always been academically inclined, and I love to use my knowledge and abilities to benefit others. I am driven by achievement and leadership. I possess skills and traits that include high work ethic, detail-oriented, communicative, and creative. If I have time off from school, someone may find me at a sports game doing photography, watching MasterChef, or doing trivia quizzes with my friends or family. I also enjoy doing adrenaline-rushing activities, like parasailing, going on rollercoasters, riding four wheelers, and so much more.
Of course, I always want to mention my family when I get the chance. I love spending quality time with my twin brother, big sister, and my mom. I travel back home several times to visit with my brother and mom, going to eat or just sitting on my mom's bed to talk. As my sister is doing active duty in the Navy, I am not able to see her as many times as my brother, but when possible, we FaceTime when we miss each other. My family is much different than those around me, but I love them always.
2023 in Indianapolis for the HOSA State Leadership Conference where I competed in Medical Terminology, placing 4th in state finals
As mentioned above, I have always been driven in my school work and community. I have worked hard as a student and leader my whole academic career. In high school, I was president of SADD and NHS, vice president of Student Council and Key Club, and I was class president all four years. I have proven on several occasion my ability to lead, as well as use my knowledge to the best of my ability. This can be shown through my success in a state competition in medical terminology (pictured), named top of my class, and tutoring peers in AP, Spanish, and medical classes. These experiences have built my motivation and skills one by one.
I like to use my creativity skills through art and photography. I took several art classes throughout school, and going into college, I have used my skills to help me learn about the human body's anatomical structure. For example, I sketch specific bones in the human body with their bony features, paying high attention to detail for accuracy. For several seasons of both women's and men's sports, I loved to capture movements and moments through photography. I have photographed volleyball, football, basketball, baseball, softball, and track & field. Several of my photos have been posted to my city's news page and my school's yearbook as well!
Key Strengths
I believe that my key strengths include leadership, organization, and creativity. I started to develop my skills in leadership in 9th grade when I started signing up for clubs. I started taking on bigger roles in activities, and I continued to do so until I got officer positions my junior and senior year when I led the clubs. Throughout this process, I improved my organization skills as well. Tracking and handling clubs and school work was a lot on my schedule, and organizing everything made everything a lot less stressful and much easier to handle. Also, ever since I was little, I have been artsy and I continued to develop my creativity through art projects and my photography. I always have a picture of everything! These skills allow me to grow and discover my role, other strengths, and what I really am interested in.
My absolute favorite moments of my life is taking risks and getting my adrenaline pumping!
Fun Fact: I have swam with sharks and stingrays and swam through caves! (not pictured)
My brother and I snowboarding this year!
Snorkling in Punta Cana!
Some adventures I have been on: holding monkeys, horseback riding on the Dominican trails, walking the sea floor 13 ft down, dune buggying through mud, a sea lion giving me a kiss, parasailing in Florida, and zip lining through the mountains of Punta Cana!
