I hold a Ph.D. in Population Studies from El Colegio de México. I study the relationship between social inequality, education, and family dynamics, particularly in Latin America.

My doctoral research explored the association between female educational expansion and changes in multidimensional mating patterns. My doctoral work was supported by the National Council of Humanities, Science, and Technology, CONAHCYT Mexico, and El Colegio de México. In 2022, I received the IPUMS Research Award in the category of International Student Research.

My work focuses on Latin American countries with a comparative and gender perspective, in which I combine demographic and statistical analysis. My work has been published in academic journals such as Estudios Demográficos y Urbanos, Revista Brasileira de Estudos de População, and Revista Latinoamericana de Población. I also hold an MA in Demography from El Colegio de México and a BSc in Economics and Finances from the National Polytechnic School of Ecuador.

Currently, I am research assistant at El Colegio de México (Colmex, Mexico) and adjunct faculty member at Colmex and the Facultad Latinoamericana de Ciencias Sociales (Flacso, Ecuador), where I teach quantitative methods. I am also co-coordinator of the Latin American Network of Family Studies (LAFAM) of the Latin American Population Association (ALAP), 2025–2026.
