Adrian Alexander of New York, born in 1946 in Bucharest, Romania, and a dual citizen of the U.S. and Italy, moved to the United States in 1964. After completing high school in Romania, he and his family settled in the U.S., where he faced the early loss of his father just six months post-immigration. Despite these hardships, he supported his mother and himself while pursuing higher education. He earned a Master's in Electrical Engineering from NYU Engineering School in 1970 and an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1972.


During this challenging time, his determination saw him through. He excelled academically and provided for his mother in their new homeland. This resilience significantly contributed to his later successes.


Career


His professional journey began at Morgan Stanley & Co., where he was recruited post-HBS in 1972, dedicating three years to investment banking before transitioning to Lehman Brothers Kuhn Loeb as VP of Mergers and Acquisitions.


Off to Italy


In 1978, he ventured to Milan, Italy, to work with the executive search firm Egon Zehnder, enhancing the firm's reach across multinational clients. His time in Italy, where he spent one-third of the last 50 years, was pivotal in his career.


Back in the U.S.


Returning to the U.S. in 1978, he tapped into his entrepreneurial spirit across various sectors. In 1980, he took over Minneapolis Sport, a struggling sporting goods franchise, and successfully restructured and sold it to over 50 franchisees, gaining positive recognition.


1987-1990 Polly Peck


He joined Polly Peck International, Plc 1987 as Vice President of Acquisitions, expanding the company's U.S. operations through multiple acquisitions, including the notable $875 million purchase of Del Monte Fresh Fruit Company.


He also spearheaded the company's strategy in Eastern Europe.


From 1991 to 1994, he advised the founder of a regional corporate stationery, helping it evolve into a $2 billion multinational office products distributor.


1995-1996 EC/American


He served as the principal of a boutique investment bank, focusing on emerging healthcare firms and facilitating venture capital investments in companies like Trinity Biotech and CTSO.


1996-1999 Phoenix Real Estate Fund


In 1996, he established the Phoenix Real Estate Fund in New York, acquiring over 200 rent-controlled apartments, later sold in 1999.


Technology Seed Capital


In 2000, he founded Technology Seed Capital, an early-stage venture capital fund that supported a dozen technology startups over three years.


2004-2006 Limores-Online Platform for Ground Transportation


He became a partner in Limores.net, an innovative online ground transportation platform, preceding the likes of Uber and Lyft.


2006-2014 AMI, Llc


He revitalized a struggling imaging center in Astoria, New York, ultimately selling it in 2014.


2010-2021 Health Settlement, LLC


He established and operated this lender for personal injury cases, collaborating with local legal and medical professionals and later partnering with U.S. Claims, a leading entity in the field.


On the Personal Side


Adrian Alexander of New York is set to celebrate his 29th wedding anniversary with his wife, Susi, in July 2025. His family includes a son who just turned 25 and a daughter who recently turned 21. In his leisure time, he enjoys the intellectual challenges of chess and poker, where his strategic skills flourish.
