About me

She/her

I'm a Brazilian scientist and a supporter of equal rights and representation of women and minorities in STEM.

I love nature and its processes, and I love how there are still tons to learn about it.

During my undergrad, I became interested in poison frogs because of the amount of questions about sequestration and chemical defense that still lacked answers, and also for the pharmacological potential of these alkaloids.

Later, I discovered that what I really appreciate is the interdisciplinary nature of this system: evolution, ecology, physiology, biochemistry and chemistry all packed in these beautiful and amazing little frogs!

During my PhD project, I've learn how frustrating but also how rewarding experimental science can be! If you need to read this today: don't give up!  :)

Curso de Verão em Zoologia (CVZoo)

A course organized and lectured entirely by graduate students from the Graduation Program in Zoology to undergraduate students from all over Brazil and South American countries that are interested in following an academic career in Zoology and Evolution.

Since 2016, we also invite teachers from São Paulo state public schools to enroll in the CVZoo for an update course. With that, we also offered workshops on methods and discussion about Zoology and Evolution education in primary and secondary schools.
