Sonia Kovalevsky High School Mathematics Day
The University of Iowa Mathematics Department organizes an annual Sonia Kovalevsky High School Mathematics Day for high-school aged women, their parents or guardians, and their teachers. The day-long program includes workshops, interactive talks, math related games and panels of professionals with math-related jobs. Sonia Kovalevsky Day is an opportunity for young women to engage in a day of networking, mentoring, and fun!
I was an organizer for SK Day in 2024 and volunteered in 2023 and 2025.

Math Graduate Board
The Math Graduate Board (MGB) exists to provide a forum for departmental discourse, to organize departmental events, and to generally enrich the graduate mathematics experience at the University of Iowa. It is an official university student organization established and led entirely by math graduate students.
I served as Chair in 2024, as Vice Chair (2023), Travel Fund Committee (2023), Graduate Liaison Committee (2023), and International Liaison (2021 and 2022).
Association for Women Student Chapter
The Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) is a national organization whose purpose "is to create a community in which women and girls can thrive in their mathematical endeavors, and to promote equitable opportunity and treatment of women and others of marginalized genders and gender identities across the mathematical sciences."
I served as the Vice-President for the AWM UI Student Chapter in AY 2024-2025.

Directed Reading Program
The Directed Reading Program is an initiative to pair undergraduate students with graduate student mentors to work on independent study projects in the field of mathematics. Among other goals, this program seeks to involve undergraduates in the larger mathematical community, foster independent learning strategies, and develop mathematical communication skills.
I have mentored an undergraduate student on General Topology (Fall 2023) and another one on Probability (Spring 2024). I was also an organizer for DRP during Fall 2023.
Operator Algebra Mentor Network
The Operator Algebras Mentor Network (OAMN) is committed to fostering gender diversity within mathematics, particularly in the field of operator algebras. Established in response to the need for mentorship and support for underrepresented individuals facing abuse or harassment, OAMN operates on a three-tier structure—senior mentors, junior mentors, and mentees. The organization promotes inclusivity, using the term “underrepresented or in minority within mathematics due to gender” as an umbrella phrase to encompass various gender identities.
I am currently a mentee.
Graduate Student Senate
The Graduate Student Senate (GSS) is the primary representative, administrative, and service organization for graduate students at the University of Iowa and the senators of GSS are the core of the graduate student voice on campus. The Graduate Student Senate also functions as a conduit for information between the Graduate College and the general graduate student population.
I served in the Graduate Student Teaching Committee and the International Student Committee (AY 2022-2023).
