I received my Ph.D. in Economics at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile under the supervision of David Kohn (PUC), Rodrigo Harrison (UAI), Caio Machado (PUC) and Guillermo Ordoñez (UPenn). My thesis "Essays in Sovereign Debt and Default" focuses on investors' and sovereign's decisions during and after the defaulted debt restructuring process to restore access to capital market.

During fall 2019, I visited University of Notre Dame (Visiting Research program at Kellogg Institute of International Studies) where I had the opportunity to work with Illenin Kondo, Cesar Sosa Padilla and Zachary Stangebye.

Prior to my graduate studies I worked as a fixed income trader first in a pension fund and afterwards in an international commercial bank. I participated as a bank's local representative for the NY based Capital Markets team leading several global debt issuances and debt management operations (such as exchanges and buybacks) on behalf of the government.

I obtained my BA in Economics at Universidad de la República in Uruguay. I also hold a MSc in Economics from Universidad de Montevideo, and MScs in Economics and in Applied Macroeconomics from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
