This is an instagram post aimed towards expectant mothers. I created this via a Canva template then imported different images and included the captions. This was used because many people of the age of expectant mothers use instagram!
The two artifacts included are a formal email and a "Did You Know" themed instagram post. These were created for the project 3 on genre and rhetorical situation. In the assignment, the focus was to spread the same message but use different genres to appeal to the target audience. The content for both artifacts are based on the same topic which is promoting mobility during child birth. However they were presented in different ways. The goal of the email was to communicate in a professional, evidence-based manner to a hospital leader. This version required a formal tone, clear organization, and credible research to support my argument.
Versus the instagram post was designed to send the same message however in a overly simplified way and an eye-catching format to attract viewers. This was also made to reach more people other than just healthcare professionals and make sure the target audience which was expectant mothers would react to it. I chose these two artifacts because together they show how much I learned about adapting a single topic to multiple genres. Making these side by side helped me understand how audience and medium shape everything, from tone and structure to the level of detail and type of evidence included. These artifacts showcase my ability to transfer rhetorical skills across different forms of communication.
