I joined IRTA’s Fruit Production program with the aim of studying the responses of Mediterranean woody crops to climate change. During my Ramon y Cajal contract, I am focused on the water relations of vineyards to ensure the viability of the crop in a context of increasing evaporative demand and decreasing soil water availability. In collaboration with researchers and winegrowers, I am evaluating the impact of agronomic practices and genetic material on the plant's water status and production. Among other approaches, I use isotopic tracers to better understand the water usage patterns of roots, which are crucial for drought resistance.
At the moment I am opening new research lines and figuring out the projects of the next few years, please do not hesitate to contact me if you wish to collaraborate.
