My Story

My name is Jia Radloff and I am junior at Buckeye Valley High School. I am in the Global Scholars Program run by the Columbus Council of World Affairs. For my Year 3 Global Scholars Take Action Project I am putting on a fun run/walk to raise awareness about Global Adoption. I was adopted from China when I was 15 months old and my sister was also adopted from China when she was 5 years old. I want to raise money to help make a difference in the lives of children in orphanages.

I took on this project because I am very passionate about running. I have been a member of the Buckeye Valley Cross Country and Track team for 5 years. Our Cross Country team has made it to the State Meet for 3 years in a row. I wanted to include something that I love doing in my project and I thought this would be the best idea to bring the community together and spread awareness.
