Sometimes when I am upgrading Reader on Windows machines, I can go to 'tools' within the application and one of the listed tools will be 'Edit'. Clicking this prompts the application to check the user's account for a license, sees that they have a Standard/ Pro license and there's a popup saying Reader can't edit PDFs but since a license is possessed, it will upgrade to Standard/ Pro in the background. Perfect.

Other times (most of the time) this does not happen, because the 'tools' tab doesn't list all the features that better versions of Acrobat have, so there is nothing for me to click to prompt the upgrade. I then have to manually uninstall Reader, sift through the maze of results that shows up when I Google 'adobe acrobat standard download' and then try to navigate Adobe's terrible website that seems to move the download for Acrobat Standard every time I go to find it.

Finally I found someone asking the same question I've been trying to find the answer to. Does anyone have an answer to this? I just setup 3 users with Pro licenses and 1 of them gave the prompt to upgrade to Pro and the other 2 I had to manually uninstall and reinstall. These 3 machines were imaged and prepped the exact same way on the same day originally.

I've found that there is a option within the "help" tab to "Upgrade".. It's either in "Help" or a different tab but it's there. Also doesn't require elevated privs to upgrade unlink a full re-install does.

I have quite a few extensions that have available upgrades: Core, Adobe Analytics and Cloud ID service. I know how to technically roll out an upgrade in Launch, but I was wondering if there are best practices (e.g. regarding testing), that I should take into consideration before I proceed. Also, are there any considerable risks of data collection issues if I upgrade one of these specific extensions?

The following instructions show you how to upgrade using the Composer package manager. Adobe Commerce 2.4.2 introduced support for Composer 2. If you are attempting to upgrade from 2.4.2 upgrades. In addition, you must be running a supported version of PHP.

Over the past week, we have been experiencing strange behaviour where the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is automatically upgraded to the Adobe Acrobat Pro version of the application. It's not until we blocked Automatic Updates using the "bUpdater" Registry Key that this behaviour has stopped. As multiple users utilise the system it may well be possible they are initiating the upgrade but as they don't have Windows Administrative Rights then it shouldn't be possible to upgrade the software.

Just thought I'd give you a heads up, I work for an IT firm and we have (so far) 3 different clients that have had nearly every machine upgrade itself from Adobe Reader 32-bit, to Acrobat Pro. It has broken a lot of things, and is definitely not due to users clicking upgrade, due to the simultaneous upgrade of all machines.

Thank you Jamie and Meenakshi. As an update to this issue, we are still experiencing the problem, even with the two mentioned Registry Keys established in the environment. We haven't been able to identify what has been triggering the upgrade, so for now we have moved to another 3rd-party application for opening PDFs. When we receive a response from Adobe with a suitable fix we will look at testing this and reverting back.

The issue is that 64bit Reader gives people the option to sign-in with Adobe credentials. If you have any staff with a Pro subscription, they are able to upgrade Reader to Pro on the machine, without admin credentials. This should not be the case but Adobe refuses to acknowledge it being an issue. I'm guessing it's their way of forcing you to upgrade all staff to Pro.

I did NOT disable all Adobe Services in the Acro Cust Wizard because there are some that our staff use. I've heard you can disable that as well and it will work but I have not personally tested it. I just wanted a way to stop people from signing in, which prevents Pro users from being able to upgrade.

Also starting today, Creative Cloud, Adobe Firefly and Adobe Express users on free plans will receive monthly Generative Credits. After the plan-specific number of Generative Credits is consumed, free subscribers can upgrade to a paid plan to continue creating assets with generative AI.

The issue is that it seems that a lots of (all?) Adobe CC updates are identified by PA as "ms-updates" traffic. I put that in evidence by issuing PCAP capture on the PA device filtered on the source IP of one workstation that is facing this issue and I saw lots of HTTP GET to *msupdate" as well as *adobe.com* destinations at the same time...

Software updates are often deferred to avoid immediate costs; however, over time this leads to an accumulation of technical debt along with increased security risk. The Upgrade Compatibility Tool enables merchants to proactively identify incompatible customizations before a Magento Commerce upgrade, making the process more predictable and lowering the cost of performing regular upgrades.

The Upgrade Compatibility Tool is a Command-Line Interface (CLI) tool that analyzes customizations on a given Magento Commerce instance and identifies code that might need to be updated prior to an upgrade. In its Alpha release, the Upgrade Compatibility Tool can validate Magento PHP APIs and the GraphQL schema to identify potential issues that need to be resolved prior to upgrading, with additional upgrade coverage planned for future releases. While the goal of the Upgrade Compatibility Tool is to make the upgrade process more seamless, it does not reduce the need for regression testing.

This is an Alpha release of the Upgrade Compatibility Tool, and Adobe appreciates your feedback and help improving it. You can message the team on the upgrade-compatibility-tool Slack channel or send an email to uct@adobe.com.

AEM Forms (JEE) is a direct upgrade to LC ES4 and you will not see much of a difference between the two. What you will notice is better HTML support and a more mature implementation of Adaptive Forms. If you want to stick with PDF and you've already got orchestrations and form templates developed then it's a no-brainer to stick with AEM. This is especially true if you've kept up with your M&S and you aren't faced with a making the large financial investment in the licensing.

Hi. I refuse to go any further with Adobe's subscription and been using CS6 for many years now. I do feel like I'm missing out on newer features and I'm wondering if I switch to Affinity 2, will I be doing an upgrade? Does Affinity have a lot of new features that CS6 does not have and what are they?

Yeah depending on the use case, In various real-world scenarios, I also found that affinity is comparable enough with adobe apps.

The only dealbreaker for me is its compatibility with Adobe format otherwise it can be such a perfect companion app.

But for someone who just starting, then AD is like an app from a different generation. much easier and intuitive to use despite the lack of features.

I also can't bear to use recent adobe CC apps with how slow it's been today.

I am able to reproduce this consistently by upgrading the VDA in my master image. Before no problem, after the upgrade you get the following error (attached image) whenever you launch the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat Reader DC\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" process.

On the Process Selection screen, select the processes youwish to upgrade. Note that, you can select specific versions ofa process you wish to include in your application by drilling downto the appropriate process version. Use the Select All Processesoption to select all processes. Click Next.

Review the summary of selected processes on the Process Previewscreen. There might be processes, flagged as Implicit, listed thatyou may not have selected earlier. These are processes that arereferenced by other dependent processes selected earlier on theProcess Selection screen. To this end, they are implicitly selectedto be upgraded and bundled into an application. You can choose tooverride these implicit selections by deselecting appropriate assets. Click Next.

Processes that use LiveCycle 7.x QPACs will not functionin LiveCycle ES4 as there is no direct upgrade path defined. Workbenchwill indicate the lack of support for such processes and if youintend to use them in the LiveCycle ES4 environment, their QPACshave to be replaced with LiveCycle ES update 1 compatible DSCs. Oncethis intermediary step is complete, you can use the Upgrade Legacy Artifactswizard to upgrade processes and their dependencies to an LiveCycle ES4compatible application.

Workbench is integrated with the Archive Migration tool, whichallows you to upgrade LiveCycle archive files to the applicationmodel. The tool was available as a plug-in for earlier versions, but is a standard feature of Workbench 11.

Information Technology Services (ITS) will upgrade Adobe Connect (connect.case.edu) to version 9.3 on Monday, Dec. 22, between midnight and 6 a.m. Adobe Connect will be unavailable to users for the duration of the upgrade.

For stripe/stripe-payments:3.5.* and newer, we provide new features, bug fixes, and security patches. Older versions are deprecated. Stripe recommends you upgrade at the earliest opportunity. All releases are available in the Adobe Marketplace and in the stripe-magento2-releases GitHub repository.
