We are experiencing this too, stuck in a loop trying to install the adobe connect application. The connect shell setup keeps popping up no matter how many time its installed. there seems to be an incompatibility with the old version of adobe connect and the new application. This roll out is less then desirable.

Basically, when I get a notification of an app update, I click update and the progress remains at 0% and never begins. I am able to log in under a dummy user accout (Mac OS 10.8.5) and install the updates, but that is a hassle and shouldn't be the way to accomplish this. I believe it is a permission issue, but I can't figure out why or how to fix it. I've uninstalled all apps, ran the cleaner tool, renamed files under /Library/Application Support/Adobe/ and ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/ (per other forum instructions), etc. and nothing fixes the problem.

This is an absolutely ridiculous "solution" for as much as we pay for this new Creative Cloud. The first link you sent us to has 10 steps. Then you want me to uninstall Creative Cloud, re-install it, and then go through the agonizing wait of downloading the updates? The Adobe Connect Transmuxing server (ACTS) is required to support connection to Adobe Connect Meetings using the HTML5 browser option. The Adobe Connect Meeting Application does not require ACTS. Some customers have chosen not to install ACTS and just deploy the Adobe Connect meeting Application.

There are a few approaches to solving this issue. A prudent server administrator will have snapshots of the servers at each point of upgrade and may just revert to the full installer version, install ACTS and then apply the missing patches. This may not be practical however given content updates and database correlation. A second possibility is to wait for the next full installer of Adobe Connect server and install ACTS along with the upgrade. As of the writing of this article the current updater that is deployed is 11.0.6 and next full installer will be Adobe Connect 11.2 tentative for middle March 2021.

1)Extract the acts.zip from in merge_module folder in the full installer.

2) Copy the Release folder present in acts.zip\fileset\dist\build\x64\Release to \11.2.0\ACTS (C:\breeze\11.2.0\ACTS)

3)Open CMD or PowerShell as admin and change the directory to ACTS folder.

4) To install ACTS run ConnectorMaster.exe -i

5) Start the ACTS service with sc start acts or from service console.

6) Register ACTS with the API

NOTE: This will install acts with default configs. Check all applied Adobe Connect Update zip files for any updates to the ACTS server and apply those to ACTS to make the version of ACTS correlate with the version of Adobe Connect. Note that the Adobe Connect 11.2.1 updater has a significant ACTS update.

I need to use Adobe Connect App for meetings. Unfortunately, I cannot use the normal browser "way", but have to use the desktop application from -connect/connect-downloads-updates.html to be able to be a moderator of a meeting.

(I saw a similar question (Adobe connect and ubuntu 18.04) which asks for the app with PlayOnLinux. Since I use Wine without a graphical frontend and this frontend may be the reason why the app crashes on the other question, I opened my question. However, if the app works with PlayOnLinux, my question can probably be closed.)

You don't need Wine to connect to Adobe Connect sesssions on Linux. you just need to switch your browser's user-agent from Linux to Windows ... (and preferably open it in Firefox; Works better in my experience.)

Along with the above known issue. You may find that you still cannot connect. It may be that your Adobe Connect software is out of date. If you are not prompted by the plugin on launch that it requires an update, you can manually download and install the most recent version of the Adobe Connect Desktop application.
