I certainly will not disparage Windows Vista because it is a very fine operating system that I'm still using myself. However answering the same question over and over again is getting somewhat tiresome. Other forum members who have never used Adobe Reader on Vista might simply give you a download link for a severely outdated and unsupported version that I would never even consider using myself. What I did was to reinstall/upgrade Adobe Reader, then there is an new option showing up in Firefox > options > applications > Portable Document Format(PDF), which is "use adobe acrobat in Firefox".
