About ME
I am a second year PhD student in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University, West Lafayette, USA. My area of concentration is Communications, Networking, Signal and Image Processing(CNSIP). I was previously a Teaching Assistant for the course "ECE 438: Digital Signal Processing with Applications", and am currently a Research Assistant at the Purdue Video and Image Processing Laboratory(VIPER). My PhD supervisor is Dr. Fengqing Zhu who is an Associate Professor in the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering.
My current research involves developing generative image compression methods for extremely low bit-rate compression. I am also developing generative AI based methods for video restoration tasks such as super-resolution and denoising. I have experience working on neural network compression methods (such as model quantization and pruning). I have also worked on developing image feature compression systems targeted especially for edge-cloud systems.
My research interests include:
Neural network pruning
Neural network quantization
Generative image compression
Deep learning for computer vision (image classification, object detection, segmentation)
Privacy preserving and adversarial machine learning
Image and video super-resolution and restoration (deblurring, denoising etc.)
Reinforcement learning for autonomous vehicles
In my personal life, I am actively engaged in sports and fitness. I am a regular at the basketball court, and have also represented my undergraduate university at the National University Basketball games on multiple occasions. I’ve found that regularly engaging in sporting activities helps to keep me refreshed and focused. I actively encourage others to engage in sports as well. I am a food enthusiast and also love the occasional long drive.
