Hello!

My name is Md Adnan Mahathir Munshi, and I am pursuing my doctoral studies in Mechanical Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University. I am working under the guidance of Professor Bladimir Ramos-Alvarado (advisor) and Professor Adri van Duin (Co-advisor). I am also collaborating with Dr. Michael Kotschenreuther, Professor Seong H. Kim and Professor Ashotush Giri on my PhD projects. Previously, I worked on reliability and radiation effects in wide band gap electronics at Penn State University. Before joining Penn State, I obtained my undergraduate degree from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka, Bangladesh. I previously served as a lecturer at the department of Textile Engineering in Primeasia University. I am currently on leave from my position as an Assistant Engineer (Mech) at Bangladesh Water Development Board to pursue my higher studies.

My research interests span across the realms of Mechanics, Materials Science, Additive Manufacturing, and Machine Learning. Specifically, I'm passionate about leveraging data driven techniques for predicting materials' behavior, utilizing Density Function Theory (DFT), Molecular Dynamic Simulations and Machine Learning. In my PhD program, I am conducting research simultaneously on two projects: the discovery of novel liquid alloy for fusion first walls in collaboration with ExoFusion (supported by ARPA-E) and Engineering spatiotemporal temperature control of solvated noble-metal nanoparticles through the understanding of solid-water nanoscale conduction (Supported by NSF). My prior involvement with another lab provided me with unique experimental experience in electrical and thermal characterization of semiconductor devices and materials, as well as their control mechanisms. Notably, I utilized the electro-wind force approach  to rejuvenate gamma-irradiated GaN-on-Si HEMTs, SiC JFETs, and SiC MOSFETs. I thrive on continuous learning, relishing the opportunity to explore new concepts and sharing my findings with others.

Beyond my academic pursuits, I have a deep love for Football, both as a player and a spectator. An avid Real Madrid fan! I also have an insatiable wanderlust, which has taken me to various places, allowing me to savor diverse cuisines, immerse myself in different cultures, and capture the beauty of these experiences through photography.
