Hello,
My name is Md Adnan Mahathir Munshi, and I am pursuing my doctoral studies in Mechanical Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University. I am working under the guidance of Professor Bladimir Ramos-Alvarado (advisor) and Professor Adri van Duin (Co-advisor). Before joining Penn State, I obtained my undergraduate degree from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka, Bangladesh.
My research centers on developing advanced computational and simulation frameworks to solve complex problems in mechanics, materials science, additive manufacturing, nanoscale heat transfer, and bioinformatics. I leverage a range of tools, including density functional theory (DFT), molecular dynamics simulations, and machine learning. During my PhD, I am pursuing two major projects: the discovery of novel liquid alloys for fusion first-wall applications in collaboration with ExoFusion and engineering spatiotemporal temperature control of solvated noble-metal nanoparticles by elucidating solid–water nanoscale conduction mechanisms. I also bring practical experimental expertise in the electrical and thermal characterisation of semiconductor devices and materials, as well as their control systems.
I thrive on continuous learning, relishing the opportunity to explore new concepts and share my findings with others. Outside academics, I love football, travelling, trying new foods, experiencing cultures, and photography. I hope you enjoy exploring my website and learning about my interests and work. Contact me with any questions or feedback.
Stay Happy!
