Tracer2  and  Tracer2 Pro

Privacy Policy

Tracer2 and Tracer2 Pro are apps aimed exclusively at radio amateurs, they share the position of the user's mobile radio station with other radio amateurs by transmitting it in radio packets or by sending it directly to the APRS-IS network (when the app is used in “direct mode”). The representation of the positions of the amateur radio stations is used for the configuration operations of the radio links and for the tactical coordination of civil protection operations and exercises.

Amateur radio activity is not covered by any of the notions of secrecy in the radio regulations. In most legislations, encryption is prohibited on amateur radio frequencies and this is extended to the APRS-IS network on the Internet.

The app does not collect and persist information for itself, but sends the amateur radio call sign (not username or other personal data) and location of the user to amateur radio networks for purposes of tactical real-time georeferencing of radio stations and signal analysis.

The information transmitted can be archived by public (see aprs.fi) and private Aprs listeners for an indefinite period.

Android Precise Location permission is required to manage the app's core function of sending beacon messages and tracking.
To use the app in background, even when the screen is off, grant the "All the time" location permission when prompted (or set it in the android apps configuration).
