About the workshop
A 2-day meeting of scientific talks, discussion and activities
The workshop aims to bring together experts, researchers, young scientists, clinicians and academicians to disseminate knowledge from interdisciplinary backgrounds. The knowledge provided by the eminent speakers and researchers will help to foster the research culture in the area of biomedical sciences and orthopedic research at IIT Kanpur and across the country.
The workshop will provide an opportunity to discuss recent developments in orthopedic research and foster future directions in implant management. The workshop is being organized by Gangwal School of Medical Sciences and Technology (GSMST), IIT Kanpur, as part of the Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration (SPARC) program, Ministry of Education (MoE) , Government of India, that aims at improving the research ecosystem of India’s higher educational institutions. This conference offers a forum where you may share compelling key developments in the field of orthopedic sciences.
Objectives
Introducing the participants to the advances in designing clinically relevant orthopedic implants
Discussing the role of 3D printing in manufacturing patient specific bone implants
Brainstorming sessions between clinicians and biomedical engineers for the advancement of orthopedic implants
Applications of regenerative therapies in bone tissue engineering
Role of biomaterial modifications in treating bone diseases and bone infections
