Everyone is invited to contribute a miniature display to the Fairy Village!
Let your imagination go. Be a part of the magic. Create on your own or make it a group project. Fun for all.
The Adirondack WhiteOut Weekend Fairy Village is a collaborative effort. The more who take part, the more enjoyable the Fairy Village becomes for everyone. We invite you and we need you to take part. Here are some guidelines to help get you going, but don't let this list stop you from inventing a new idea of your own.
Building Suggestions and Considerations
Start with a base - a tray, a piece of plywood, a mirror, a carboard box, or a glass or plastic container. Something that can help you easily carry your creation.
Build a house, a cottage, a scene, a floral or abstract display.
Add figurines, toys, battery-powered fairy lights, ribbons, pinecones, cotton balls, glitter, evergreen branches, you name it!
A glue gun is helpful to secure items in place.
Remember your creation will be on display outside and on the snow/ground, subject to snow, wind and possibly even rain. Do not include any item you are concerned about being in this environment.
Each display will be illuminated by a reading light (provided by Adirondack WhiteOut Weekend).
When your display is finished, it should be delivered to the labyrinth on South Shore Road in Wanakena between noon and 3 pm on Friday, February 13th. It will be on display that night and the following day in the labyrinth for Adirondack WhiteOut Weekend. You may pick up your display on Sunday. Or, if you are willing, the displays will then be moved to the Adirondack Exhibit Center in Star Lake to be on display through the end of February.
